Maytag Gas Dryer MDG308DAWW doesn't blow hot air, no clicks heard

The dryer spins, blow cold air and yesterday (3.12) it dryed clothes, but took a long time. Also, this looks like a sealed unit, how do you remove the back to get at the e.g. thermal fuse?

My Maytag MDG308DAWW doesn't have any screws on the front or the back 3" from bottom. This dyer appears to be a semi-sealed unit, it has some removable screws from the outside and some screws removed only from the inside. I can pop the top up about 3-4", its limited by wiring. Can you also tell me what the problem might be and how I check for the problem? Thanks for your quick response

Look at the bottom of your front panel and see if you can see a screw on either side about 2-3 inches from the very bottom edge of the front panel. If so take them out and pull the bottom away far enough to disengage the top of the front panel from the top panel. If this works for ya. then now you have it openened, if not repost me.

OK IF YOU CAN POP UP THE TOP THEN REACH IN AND IF EQUIPED WITH A DOOR SWITCH UNDO THEM REMEMBERING WHICH WIRE GOES WHERE. THEN IF NEED BE UNHOOK THE WIRES FROM THEIR CLIPS TILL YOU CAN OPEN THIS UP ALL THE WAY. ONCE THAT IS DONE LOOK ON THE INSIDE OF THE FRONT PANEL AND REMOVE THE 2 SCREWS THAT HOLD THE FRONT TO THE CABINET. THEN LIFT AND PULL THE FRONT OFF SET ASIDE. NOW GO TO THIS SITE www.repairclinic.com AND ENTER YOUR MODEL NUMBER THEN SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN AND CLICK ON THE RED 100 THEN WHEN NEW PAGE POPS UP LOOK AT PART 2681, 915598, 1246562, AND 1068145. ONE OR MORE OF THESE IS THE PROBLEM. AND IT ALSO MAY BE YOUR GAS VALVE COILS. TO SEE THESE ENTER PART # 3479 AND THEY WILL BE SHOWN. tHIS MAY SOUND WIERD BUT THE WAY i CHECK THE THERMOSTATS IS WITH A LIGHTER SINCE THEY RESPOND TO HEAT, TAKE ONE OUT AND APPLY THE FLAME FROM THE LIGHTER TO THE SMOOTH SENSING SIDE AND WHEN IT REACHES THE SET TEMP YOU SHOULD FEEL AND HEAR IT CLICK. THE HIGH LIMIT ONE THOUGH WILL TAKE A BIT LONGER TO REACT. IF YOU HAVE A REPAIR PLACE WHERE YOU LIVE YOU CAN DO THE LABOR YOURSELF AND JUST GET THE REPLACENMENT PARTS. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU IN YOUR ENDEAVOURS. GOOD LUCK

Either the control panel is defective or the dryer heating element is defective.

Conia CCD4501 cloths dryer not blowing hot air anymore

If you can turn it on and have the door open, hold the door switch in and see if you have a glow from the heating element. If not, your element is broken. That is if it is an electric dryer. If it is a gas dryer you need to check the pilot light or the thermo sensor.

I have a Maytag Atlantis Gas Dryer that will turn on, rotate, but will not get hot and dry the clothes. A load of clothes in the afternoon, didn’t dry, tried again but didn’t dry – went to bed after putting on auto dry - next morning the dryer was still rotating and didn’t turn off. No hot air – only cold air.

Strange issue with my gas dryer and the control panel I am having a strange issue with my dryer. I have a Whirlpool gas dryer, Model: GGW9250PW0; and am having issues with the Electronic Control (mfg part 8558753). Yesterday, I went to go use the dryer and I press the "Control On" button like normal, but nothing happened. I did not get any lights or anything, yet when I open the door, the inside light comes on. I have a similar model washer plugged into the same electric outlet and everything there works fine. After researching the issue out a bit, I took off the toe panel and took off the duct-lint (mfg part W10128606) so that I could reach the wires connected to the dryer thermister and dryer thermal fuse better. I then took the wires off both of those as well as disconnected the sensor wiring harness (mfg part 3406653) and used a vacuum to clean out any lint as well as compressed air to clean off those connectors. I re-hooked all the wires back up and plugged the dryer in. I pressed the "Control On" button and all the proper lights lit up. I then pressed the "Cancel" button to turn it off, unplugged the dryer, and put the duct-lint back on. I plugged the dryer back in and tried the "Control On" and "Cancel" again, and it still worked. I then put the toe panel back on, pushed "Control On", then turned on the dryer using the "Hold to Start" button and everything worked like it used to. Here is the strange issue I am having. I ran a load in the washer and when done, I put in the dryer and tried the "Control On" button. Everything came up, but when I pressed the "Hold to Start", nothing happened. I then tried to press the "Cancel" button, and nothing happened. I could turn the knob and the different lights lit up, but none of the buttons seemed to be working. After holding the "Cancel" button for a few seconds it turned off the panel lights. I then pushed the "Control On" button again and had to press it a few times before the panel lights came on. After a little bit of playing with the buttons and knob, I was able to start the dryer. I stopped the dryer (didn't want to run it the whole time in case something is wrong) and tried to start it again. I can get the panel lights to come on, but it seems like the buttons are sticking and not fully working like they should. I don't want to have to buy an expensive part unless I absolutely need to and wanted to see if anyone can think of anything else that might be going on or that I could try before paying almost $200 for a new Electronic Control, especially if I will still have the same problem after replacing this part like some other people have reported. Thanks!
