Question about Element Electronics FLX3210 32 in. LCD TV

FLX03210 Element LCD TV woun't turn on if VGA input was used.

This seems to be a common problem with this set. I believe it is a manufactor design problem. When you use the VGA port you damage the LCD controle board. My FLX 3210 32 in TV will not turn on. The standby light is on but the remote nor the TV panel will turn it on.

Hi,
The remote control and buttons, the volume control, channel and other functions of the TV are all connected to the control module. It is likely the problem with the control module. Testing is the only way to tell as the control module details are not available.
I understand that you are looking for something that could be done at home to try fixing however all I can think off it unplug the TV from the mains and then press and hold the power button for 5-7 seconds (to drain the charged capacitors in case if they are the culprits... might sound silly but no harm in trying) then connect the TV back to the power supply and try turning it back on..
However I suspect the Control module and you might require assistance from service center.

Thanks and Regards,
Srinivas

Please unplug TV AC cord from power outlet for 10-15 minutes and replug back in and turn On TV

If still no joy then back light inverter board would be defective.

My TV lost its wide Screen display two days ago. It Screen Menu is not available (only for VGA, whatever that means). How do I restore wide screen display?

VGA is an interface used between a computer and monitor. You need to go through your main menu and look for 'Input' and change it back to whatever input you normally use, such as 'Cable' or 'Antenna.' Depending on how your remote is designed, you may have a button marked 'Display' which gives you access to input selection.Right now, your set is looking for input from a computer and is expecting to see signal from a 15-position connector which you probably have never used.

How to Hook Up a Laptop to a LCD TV by VGA cable?

First of all check out does both the LCD tv and laptop both have vga cable input socket This is the most important step, as it will allow you to buy the right equipment.
VGA cable is the standard 15-pin connection that you would use to connect a monitor to a PC or laptop. Use a VGA cable to connect your laptop's VGA output with the television's VGA input. Use separate audio connection with mini-jack (3.5 mm) to RCA adapter.
Turn on your devices. Once you've made the connections, turn devices on. Switch your TV to the input mode that corresponds with the input you used to connect your laptop, and you should now view your laptop on your LCD TV.
This will help.Good luck.

Trying to connect our element flx2210 to a computer through a VGA cord. When plugged in and on the vga input the tv screen says not support. would the computer be too old for the tv?

Sorry that I can't give you an actual solution, but I've been checking up on this TV all night. 90% of the upset people are that way because they either didn't turn off everthing before messing with plugs, or used an incompatible VGA cable (even though I've never heard of one of those. Be careful back there, Element charges $250 for repairs before they even know what the problem is....

CAN THIS MONITOR CONNECT TO MY LARGE SCREEN TV? IF SO, WHAT CABLE SHOULD I USE?

If they share any kind of connector, it should be possible. You didn't include the model number of your TV so we cannot check to find the available interfaces. Your Acer seems to be only equipped with the common VGA analog input so your TV would have to be equipped with a 'D' connector with 15 pin positions (may not all be used). VGA is on many, but not all TVs.

FLX03210 Element LCD TV woun't turn on if VGA input was used.

I owned this set for 1.5 years with no problem until I used the VGA input port. I could watch movies from my laptop for about 3 days, then my TV wouldn't turn on? The red power light was on but the light never turned blue indicating the set is on.

I searched this set on line and found this problem was very common with this set. I believe it is a manufacture defect that they didn't have a recall for.

I am going to replace the LCD control board, that should take care of the problem. I saw a used one on ebay for $69. With this board having known problems, I didn't dare try a used one.

Why won't my tv display my computer screen

Hi. The best way to hook your computers display to your LCD screen will be to use the VGA input socket. If your video card can support both S-video input and VGA, you can use either one but, the VGA is best for optimal resolution. This is the easy way to do this. Step one, connect the VGA cable to the computers video card and then, run the other end of this same cable to the VGA input slot on the LCD screen.Step 2, next you will make sure that the LCD's input selection is selected to show what is being transferred from the CPU video card by using the input button on the lcd remote control. The lcd(your tv) should be on VGA or PC input signal. Step 3, now, you Will have to also make sure that your video card is set to transfer this signal as well by pulling up your video cards software window and switch to the proper options. once this is done, you should get a signal. Be sure to use the VGA input/output ports on both the lcd television and your cpu for optimal transfer of the video stream. Here is a pic of your back panel. use the input port labeled I for good PC input quality.

LCD TV and VGA output

The resolution and refresh rates have to match exactly to the TV for it to work correctly with the computer.

The newer computers are using much faster refresh rates by default. Their default resolution is also different.

Consult the manual for the TV and see if the computer's external monitor output can be set to match to what the TV exactly requires. Both the refresh rate and resolution are critical.
