Question about Dell AS500 Sound Bar Computer Speakers

1 Answer

Hi, i have this problem from time to time; the sound from the speakers does not work. When I turn the dial on the speaker, the green light turns on, but there is no sound whatsoever. I feel there is a problem with the plug - is that right?

Have you checked all plugs on both ends to make sure they're all seated?

There could be a short in the wire, you could try a pair of headphones instead to see if it is your speakers causing the problem or not.

Hi Roxanne
Sounds as though the power-supply might be faulty. As you turn up the volume more power is required from the supply and it's not delivering - hence the light fading.

Speakers not working

Check the easy stuff first: make sure the volume is at a reasonable level and play sounds from multiple sources like pandora, youtube, a local mp3 etc to make sure issue is consistent.

Next make sure the one or more wires are plugged into the correct ports. Or at the very least the green wire is plugged into the green plug on the computer (unless they're USB speakers?).

You could always look at the sound settings of Windows and see (if your sound card has multiple plugs) if the plugs and assigned different functions (base speaker versus microphone/headphone etc.). Hope this helps!

No sound from rear speakers on the lifestyle 18

The SL2 works in such a way that the speaker satellite out put from the bass modules is fed to the input of the SL2 transmitter (remember, transmitter) then the sattellitespeakers are connected at the other end of the room to the receiver. An initial blinking green light should be seen and once the system is turned on this turns into steady green. Both the SL2 transmitter and receiver operates via WIFI.

Glad to be of service...
