Question about Acer Aspire 5520-5579 Notebook

Want to use the calculator portion of my Acer computer. I have

limited computer awareness. Where can I get a manual for using

this computer?

To open the calculator, click START and then RUN. When the window opens type 'calc" in the input field and then click OK. The calculator application will open. Another way is to click on START and then on All Programs and then Accessories. Calculator will be in the list. You can left click on it to run it, or right click it and then click 'send to . . .' and choose 'desktop(create shortcut)' to put a shortcut on the desktop. That would make it easier to access in the future.

The link below will take you to the Acer website for your laptop:

http://us.acer.com/acer/productv.do?link=oln15e.redirect&changedAlts=&CRC=1511809838

Once there, Click on the Service & Support tab near the top and the click on the Service Website link. There is a link to the manuals in the left column.

Good luck and please let me know how this works out for you.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

the electronics under that portion of the display must have been damaged somehow. find out if there is a way to replace the screen. if there isn't, you might need a new calculator

I am not aware that the Casio FX-9750GPlus has a LIMIT application. If it does I would like to know how to find it.

As to graphing, read what follows. Window questions is at the end.

I will show you how to draw a simple function such as y=5*X 2. The method is the same reagrdless of the complexity of the function.

- Turn calculator ON. If you do not see several icons press [MENU].
- Use arrow to select the [GRAPH] application and press [EXE].
- In the entry screen, the line with Y1= is highlighted. If it is not, use arrow to highlight it.
- Press the right arrow, the highlighting disappears leaving you with Y1= and the blinking cursor.
- At the position of the cursor type 5 then press the [X, theta,T] key, under the [ALPHA]. On the screen appears 5X, complete your equation by typing [ ] 2
- Press [EXE] to store function.
- If you want to draw other functions, it is time to do so on that screen.
- When done, press [F6:Draw].
- If the screen does not show a
lot of the function, you can use the arrow keys to pan (move the center of the graph. You can pan Up, Down, Left, or Right.
- You can also press [SHIFT][V-Window] to set the window limits.
- You can also press [SHIFT][ZOOM] and select [F5:AUTO

Sorry, but you cannot calculate limits of functions with this calculator. It does not have a Computer `Algebra System (CAS). For that you need a graphing calculator with CAS: Casio ClassPad 300, 300PLUS, 330, HP 48 GII, HP49 G/ G+, HP 50G, TI-NSPIRE CAS, TI89 Titanium, TI 92/92PLUS, TI Voyage 200 PLT. It is still a very good scientific (non graphing) calculator

However, you can calculate numerical derivatives, and numerical integrals, solve linear and non-linear equations.

Even though this post does meet your expectations, do not let that prevent you from rating it.

Yes there is. You would need to de-solder the old one and re-solder a new one in its place. This is done on the motherboard of the laptop, so be aware that if anything goes wrong, you may kill the laptop.

Please take a moment to rate my solution.

Thanks.

Simon.

Hello,

This calculator can only perform NUMERICAL DEFINITE integrals. Which meansyou have to supply the numerical value of the lower limit and the numerical value of the upper limit. The result is a numerical value.

The calculator cannot perform symbolic calculus.

If the function is simple you find the integral in tables of integrals where you will see that INT(log(X)dx=x(log(x)+1). Some calculators that have a CAS (computer algebra system) can manipulate symbolic expression, but not theCasio FX-991ES.

You ask it the value of the integral of log(X) from X=1 to X=3 and it will give you 0.5627748004

Hope it helps
