Inglis dryer-spinning,not heating,Inglis washer not spinning well

Has been taking longer and longer to dry our clothes.  Part of this is that our washing machine purchased at the same time is not spinning the clothes dry as well.   Now the dryer is spinning, but not giving any heat.  Can this be repaired, or should we be looking at a new washer and dryer

Your heating element is going out. Mine did this a few months ago. It is an easy fix. Look up the part online.

Why do clothes take a long time to dry even if dryer is heating?

One basic reason is your washer could NOT be spinning most of the water out, therefore your clothes are wetter than they should be, thus taking longer to dry:-)

Whirlpool dryer is not drying properly. Have to go through a couple of cycles to dry clothes.

2 things are needed to dry clothes. 1 is good air flow. Check to make sure that the dryer vent is not clogged or partially clogged with lint. Also make sure there are no kinks in the vent hose. With the dryer running you should feel good air flow blowing out of the outside house vent. The 2nd thing a dryer needs heat. Check to see that the dryer feels warm to hot when you reach in to tough the clothes. It is possible that the heat element has partially failed. Another thing to investigate is how well the laundry machine is spinning out the water in the spin cycle. This spin cycle is used to get as much water out as possible prior to placing the clothes in the dryer. The wetter the clothes when they come out of the laundry, the longer it takes to dry them.

Amana les60aw gets hot in dryer but clothes wont dry. cleaned out vent, shortend exhaust hose. noticed an orange glow coming from back vents when i turned it back on???

The orange glow is the heating element working. It mush have good air flow or the coil will burn out and stop heating. Also the thermal limit will stop the heat if to great. If you went all through the vent and the tubing is not smashed or flat check the outside vent for air circulation, if good try to dry a load of clothes. Are you sure your washer is spinning out well? Wet clothes take longer to dry.

Estate Dryer takes too long to dry load

Since you say the vent is clear, Make sure that the lint filter is cleared before each load. Make sure the door shuts close and is reasonably sealed. If the dryer draws air past the door, it is not fully drawing heat from the element or burner. Also make sure the washer is doing it's job in the spin cycle. It takes much longer to dry fabrics that are still soppy wet. You might try resetting the washer in the spin cycle to further evacuate the water from the clothes before placing in the dryer. See if that makes a difference. Maybe the washer spin is just being lazy. If it's a top loader it may have a loose belt causing the problem.
