IBM wont wake up

Unplug, remove battery, Plug in, reboot, Open the Control Panel, select Power Options, Select High Performance, you didn't supply the Model of IBM or the OS, so I'll give you a Win 7 solution, open Change Plan Settings, under Plugged in, select Never and Never, select Advanced Power Settings, Adjust Sleep and Hibernate to Never, adjust ALL settings to your preference. Always shut down and unplug your machine when not in use, it will last longer and prevent damage due to a power surge, and IF your Battery malfunctions COULD prevent a fire hazzard.

Laptop will not charge

Step 1:
Windows 7 Laptop Battery not charging b> Careful management of battery charging and power consumption settings on your laptop computer is essential if you spend a lot of time away from home or the office. To stop your Microsoft Windows 7 laptop from running out of juice at a critical moment, you can change the battery and power settings for the device. Select the battery meter icon from the desktop toolbar to change the laptop's power plan.
Click the battery meter icon in the notification area on the right-hand side of the computer's desktop taskbar. This launches the battery and power plan options dialog box. Find the battery status display at the top of the dialog box. This shows the remaining charge in the laptop battery, and indicates if the battery is currently plugged into a power supply and charging. Click the check-box beside the power plan option that best matches your current activities. Select "High Performance" if the laptop is connected to an external power supply and the battery is charging. Choose "Balanced" if you don't need to save power and you want Windows 7 to optimize the laptop's power settings. Select "Power Saver" if you need to run the laptop on only battery power for as long as possible. Click anywhere on the desktop screen to exit the battery and power plan options dialog box.

Laptop failure

hi

never leave a system running unattended for long period of time without a battery back up (UPS), as low and high current spikes will cause damage to the circuitry of the computers mainboard.

Have you tried using the AC adapter to power up the computer ? if that works and the battery is dead, simply replace the battery. if the system is not powering up at all, then the issue is bad AC adapter or the mainboard is damaged from overload of current.

Amlio laptop keeps showing problem with current power plan

Unfortunately, you will have to purchase another battery to rule out "bad battery" or any other problem. Try buying one from ebay, you'll get it cheaper there.

good luck

Laptop

The problem sounds like it either has to be with the software, the battery, the modem, the video card or the screen - most likely culprit is the battery (or the charger). The modem, video card and the screen when active are taking much more current than when inactive - (if you are still downloading things while the screensaver is on without a problem then the modem is not the issue) This extra current drawn is pehaps not able to be coped with by the battery, even though it is able to run the basic operations. If a new battery/charger doesn't solve the problem then the screen has to have a fault causing it to draw excessive current - first thought would be to get the connections that lead through the hinge to the monitor checked -they get damaged quite easily and there could be a short - same applies to the video card although this is more likely to completely fail than to work partially. Hope this helps :)
