Question about Toshiba Satellite M45-S265 Notebook

Open Question

Toshiba m45 S265. Been having power up and down related issues. Started with it not responding properly to shutting down the laptop from the desktop. It would get to the windows shutting down screen and freeze. Powering down by holding the power button down worked fine. Then a new issue started where if you ran the laptop battery down to powering off, it would do strange things when you would try to power back up. The Toshiba flash screen would come up but only half size and offset to the left. After that it would either freeze or simply go black and then freeze. Reseating the battery doesn't help. If you keep trying to boot it will eventually boot up and function fine from then on as long as you kept the battery charged or the adapter plugged in. As long as you shut it down before the battery went dead it would boot and function ok. Accidentally ran it out of battery and now I have a new problem. You can press the power button but it doesn't do anything 8 out of 10 times. when it does turn blue and you hear the fan and HD spool up, it will power off in 3-5 seconds. I dissembled the laptop, cleaned the power switch, fan and cooling assembly, reseated and plugged all of the connections, put it all back together and it booted right up normally. Great! Started checking everything for functionality, found that the WiFi card wasn't showing up on the system. Figured that I had missed a connection or the board wasn't seated correctly. No problem...powered it down, found that the board wasn't seated correctly, fixed it,and now it will only power up for 2-3 seconds before shutting down. No difference whether the WiFi board is in or not. Not sure if this is a hardware or software problem. Looking for some help here.

Trying to reinstall windows from the hard drive on toshiba m45 s265 but it asks for admin password to enter the recovery

that is usual(admin password) do you not have it?

also a frozen computer usually means that there is an issue with the reload or restore function

methinks you would do better to load operating system from restoral disk in cd reader

Toshiba satellite m45 s265

Probably a broken power jack inside the machine - really common problem on laptops. You can expect $100-$180 to fix depending on where you take it.

Get a recommendation from someone if you go to a local place - lots of shoddy shops are around,
