Re: Clothes coming out dirty.

A solution from the internet: Make a boil wash (with no clothes and detergents), put into the soap dispenser a cup of bicarbonate of soda.It should clean the machine and remove the bad smell. Another: I have a front loading machine also and am not willing to constantly clean out the machine -- the soap and fabric softeners you use are building up between the inner and outer drums (and on the drum itself sometimes). Because the machines door is so tightly sealed (to prevent water leakage) the smell from this buildup is awful. I finally found a solution. MAGGIE'S SOAP NUTS -- they are all natural (grow on trees) and will remove the grime from your drum and also clean your clothes (you won't even need fabric softener anymore). Stop using commercial detergents and fabric softeners and start using Maggie's Soap Nuts. They are not very cheap but they work great -- I have found that making a liquid out of the soapnuts and storing it in a bottle works better than putting them in the sack cloth they come with (because front loaders do not agitate constantly like regular machines, the cloth bag sits on the clothes and sometimes leaves a stain -- the liquid will not leave a stain. YOU WILL SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM AND HAVE SOFTER CLOTHES TO BOOT (without fabric softener so you save some money there). They are also better for septic tanks, the environment and your health! I believe Whole Foods sells them and they are also on the internet at Note: Also go to -- they are going to buy these in bulk to cut the cost in half but don't have them yet. You should be able to buy them there soon. Note: Forgot to tell you to run some of this thru your machine with hot water before washing your clothing to clean out the buildup that is already in the machine. Fixya is real cool.....

I have a Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9665JQ0. Just replaced motor coupling a week ago. Now the washer will not agitate on extra delicate cycle or hand washable cycle. Works fine on Normal and...

When you replaced the motor coupler, did you remove the wiring harness from the motor? If you did, then check to see if you bent a pin aside on the motor when you plugged it back in. I have done this numerous times myself.

Washer is leaving dirty spots on clothes

If you use fabric softener it may be from the softener. Dilute your softener 50% before pouring it in.

Dark dirty spots on some clothing items appears on every load.

what you are seeing is suds getting back onto the clothes. make sure you are using HE type soap and not using too much of it.
if you are seeing suds inside the unit, when it is running, then it will "re-deposite" dirty soap residues back onto the clothes.
you need to run a rinse and spin cycle or even a heavy duty cycle with hot water to rinse out any soap that is left in the unit.
not a major problem, just use it differently and it will be ok.

Clothes come out soaking wet

Is the Delicate or Hand Washables cycle selected?
Spin speeds can vary by the cycle that is selected. Your washer is designed so that in certain cycles, such asDelicate or Hand Washables cycles, the spin speeds are slower. In these cycles, more water is retained in the load at the end of the cycle to keep delicate fabrics from shrinking and wrinkling. Select the appropriate cycle based on the fabric being washed.
Was an Extra Low, Low or No Spin option selected?
Select the highest spin speed for the fabric being washed. If extra low spin or no spin was selected, the washer may not remove enough water from the load.
Were you washing one bulky item, such as a rug or large blanket?
Consider adding more items to help balance the load during spin. Select $FL-drainspin cycle and restart the washer. Your washer is designed to detect an unbalanced load and automatically lower the spin speed. Unbalanced conditions are more likely to occur with a single, bulky item.
Are excessive suds present?
Use only HE High Efficiency detergent. Using non-HE detergent or more than the manufacturer's recommended amount of detergent can cause excessive suds. The excess suds can cause the washer to run at a reduced spin speed, which will result in very wet loads.
See also: Why HE High Efficiency detergent is required.
Is the drain hose kinked or is the drain clogged?
Make sure the drain hose is not kinked. Straighten the hose for adequate water flow. Remove any blockage from the drainpipe or utility sink. Use the U-shaped drain hose form on the drain hose, and secure the drain hose. See the Installation Instructions for details; find them by entering your model number in the Manual and Literature search below.
Is the end of the drain hose more than 96" (244 cm) above the floor?
The drainpipe (standpipe) height requirements are: 96" (244 cm) maximum and 30" (76.2 cm) minimum. Your washer will not be able to adequately pump the water out of the washer if the drainpipe (standpipe) exceeds 96" (244 cm). In this case, the water may flow back into the washer. See the Installation Instructions for details; find them by entering your model number in the Manual and Literature search below.
Is your outlet voltage low?
Check electrical source or call an electrician.

Fisher Paykel washer GWL15

I have noticed this same problem and wonder if it because my FP washer wasn't draining properly and dirty water couldn't get out. See my post on "eco smart won't drain, smells hot". I found one of my husband's socks when I removed the black motor/white plastic housing on bottom of washer. tip washer back and you'll see this electric motor. My post tells how to remove it. then you can look into that small space and see if there is something plugging it.

I am waiting on my replacemt motor, and hoping all the dirty streaks are gone. the water I drained out after i removed the sock was really grimy and gritty with dirt. I'm sure the sock has been holding a lot of junk in the bottom of the tub and it would end up on clothes during spin cycle. My issue has been going on for a few weeks and then the motor finally smoked which led to the sock discovery!

Damaging clothes

How long is the gentle cycle?. I prefer to make my own delicate cycle. I let the machine fill, agitate about 1 min. then turn off and let soak about 15 - 20 min. Make the machine pump out and start spin very briefly. stop machine. let fill up again and repeat to rinse. Don't let agitate for more than 3 or 4 min total wash and rinse don't let spin completely.
