On this dryer you must remove the rear dust cover to laccess the heater . It is on the right hand side and has 2 screws holding it to the heater support.

Replace the Heating Element. The heating element is usually located behind a panel on the back. To replace you will need to remove the back cover of the dryer, then locate the heating element. The heating element is screwed into place and is easy to unscrew and replace. Be sure to have the dryer unplugged while doing this.

Bad Thermal High limt,
Bad Thermistor,
Bad heat element.

I can't locate the thermal fuse on my kenmore 64612 dryer. Can you tell me where it is?


64612 is not a good model number however on most electric dryers the thermal fuse is located near the heating element and heat limit switch.

heating element is located at the back of the dryer. if you can see a big coil of wires like a long spring laid back and fort to a duct , that is the heating element.
