    I'm Using a Line 6 pod X3 Live

  • estebanora Apr 15, 2009

yes, Apparently I've installed every driver that comes with the Pod. I think that the problem is with the computer; In the computer's System preferences In the input tab there is a message displayed: "No input devices found". What should I do!!! I really Appreciate your help (Sorry about my english, it's my second language)

  • estebanora Apr 15, 2009

Ok, I did what you told me to, I verified if the pod works in other computers, it worked perfectly. I checked in "System profiler" in my computer and It is recognizing the pod. I'm still having the same problem! :(  I can't choose any kind of input device in mac preferences!

Have you loaded the driver for the Pod?
The driver settings are accessed throught the Audio/Midi settings on the Mac. (Audio/Midi Setup)
NOTE: The Line 6 software is not supported in Leopard

First check that the USB cable is ok. (Replace it, if needed, with a known good one).
Try not connecting the Pod to the computer untill after it has started up. (There are known issues where active devices are ignored by the computer on startup).
Open 'System Profiler' and check the USB bus to see if the Pod is recognized.
If you still don't have a connection verify that the Pod USB interface is working by connecting it to another computer.

It seems to be a driver issue.
Check that you have the latest software/drivers from Line 6. (Updates were put on line in Feb.) These can be downloaded from the Line 6 website.
Re-install the software making sure that you follow the instructions provided by Line 6.
If you still have a problem, your next action should be to contact Line 6 support.

I tried to hook up my power mac g4 tower to a monitor and the screen is not coming on. It states monitor is on, now connect to computer.

Really, the only way to troubleshoot this problem is to connect your display to another computer and see if it functions; then connect your computer to another display and see if it functions. Once you have determined which unit isn't working correctly, you can proceed from there.

I have a quick silver g4. I connect this to the outlet on the wall and it did not turn on. it has the power light goes on and off and it sound like a disco light. tic tic as it turns on and off

This report matches no common failure mode of the Quicksilver.
With power cord disconnected, test the internal battery voltage. If it is below 3.3V, it needs replacement. After replacing, you MUST reset the PMU by pushing the PMU button (located near the battery) ONCE. Then retry the startup.
If this does not solve your problem, you will need to bring your unit to an Apple-qualified tech for diagnosis.

I have a quicksilver power mac G4 desktop that has a blinking green light when I turn it on. What should I do?

I assume the light you refer to is the power LED.
No Apple tech repair guide says anything about this LED being able to blink.
It's possible that this is an indication that it is trying to upgrade firmware, especially if it is accompanied by a loud audio tone of about three seconds. I can't say this for sure, because it has never been necessary to activate the firmware upgrade mode on a Quicksilver, since Apple never released any firmware upgrades to it. Firmware upgrade activation is achieved by holding in the power button at startup until the tone is heard. If you are hearing the tone and the power LED is blinking, it may simply indicate that your power button is sticking in.

Install an Airport card in a G4 Tower

There are six models of Power Mac G4 computers: AGP Graphics, PCI Graphics, Gigabit Ethernet, Digital Audio, QuickSilver, and QuickSilver 2002. You cannot install an AirPort card in the Power Mac G4 (PCI Graphics); the rest accept original version 1 Apple Airport cards. The card is simply inserted through an opening in the PCI card guide and seats itself into a socket on the logic board. Then you attach the loose antenna cable to the hole on the end of the Airport Card. You're done.

The power button is only working periodically

Hello,
On these PowerMac G4 desktops, the powerbutton works when you press hard and long on it.
If this continue even doing so, I would recommend to take the Mac for repair.

AirPort Password

Hello,

This article provides instruction on the installation of the AirPort Wireless Networking card into a Power Mac G4 (AGP Graphics) computer. Similar instructions, with graphics, are included with the AirPort card.

1. Shut down the computer (choose Shut Down from the Special menu) and unplug all cables except the power cord.
2. Touch the metal PCI access cover on the back of the computer to discharge static electricity. Avoid walking around until you have finished installing the card. Unplug the power cord then lift the latch on the side of the computer.
3. Gently lower the side panel onto a clean, flat surface. Lower it onto a soft cloth to avoid scratching the case.
4. Connect the antenna cable to the connector on the end of the AirPort card. The cable is usually stowed on the side of the PCI card guide.
5. Remove the metal clip and pull the AirPort card from the adapter card, shown below. The adapter card and clip are not used with your Power Mac G4.

6. Insert the AirPort card (serial number side up) through the opening in the PCI card guide, and into the connector on the main logic board as shown below.

7. Raise the side panel and press it against the case until it snaps into place.
Instructions for using the AirPort software are in Mac Help, available in the Help menu.

Wireless Internet access requires an Internet service provider (fees may apply) and AirPort (or AirPort-compatible) wireless Ethernet card and base station. Some ISPs are not compatible with AirPort. For more information, see technical document 106590: "AirPort: Requirements for Wireless Internet Access"

Thank You
