Question about Sanyo 18KS52 Air Conditioner

1 Answer

Not a problem but more of a question about uninstalling.

A friend of mine is tearing down a hunting cabin and has a Sanyo 24KS32A air conditioner and I was going to by the unit from him since he is going to put central air in his new cabin. I was told that there is a way to reclaim the refrigerant into the outdoor unit so as not to vent the R22. Is this true. If so how? I know I will have to have a vacuum pulled on the system before when it is put back together. Thanks

Eric

Yes I have guages but they are automotive style for 134. I don't think they will work.

Do you have gauges? You can use the king valves to capture it in the condenser. If you have gauges.

All you are looking for is 0 on the gauge. All this is on the condenser so Hook up your gauges just to the low side. Take the caps off the king valves, service valves you will notice a allen wrench fitting down in the cap turn the high side to where it is completely out. Get the low side started but leave open maybe 1/2 way. Now start the unit it will pump the freon into the condenser and hold it there when you get to 0 on the low side gauge shut the low side fitting the rest of the way. And turn off the unit Now you have captured all the freon on and ready to cut the lines. Will still have a very small amount in lines but 99 percent will be in the condenser.

Error code ho6 means what

According to the sanyo site H06 is a Compressor Fault, Low Pressure trip. see: http://www.orionair.co.uk/Sanyo_fault_codes_air_conditioning.htm

These errors are difficult to diagnose. If you are technical, a good start would be (of course with the power disconnected) remove and reconnect all the connectors and cables on the control assembly board. Also make sure that the ground connections are tight. Good luck. And please let me know how you finally get this issue solved.

My Mistral was working yesterday (on heat) now it won't. Just sits there as if warming up but actually blows out freezing air - on "sun" mode.

REMOTE CONTROL SYMBOLS?

Yes my unit shows a snowflake, bucket with squares (my husband thinks it is a fire bucket), fan (which we know about), and a sun. Does the snowflake mean-use in winter, or does the sun mean-heat ? We have a ComfortStar and the only booklet that we got is the technical manual which does not help us.
