SOURCE: Whirlpool duet model #GHW9400PWO shows

"F11" is a Serial Communications error between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Motor Control Unit (MCU), or the interconnecting wiring. If you remove the bottom panel under the door, there should be a tech sheet inside that explains all the error codes and how to troubleshoot them. The sheet will be located directly behind the panel, or mounted to one of the interior cabinet walls. It is recommended that you leave it inside the washer, so it does not get lost. If you cannot find the tech sheet, post back and I can give you guidance.

More commonly, the CCU has failed. A replacement can be found at repairclinic.com. Just type in your model number in the Search Menu. Searspartsdirect.com also carries it, but at a higher price. I mention the second website, because they have information drawings to aid in troubleshooting. I hope you find this information helpful.

Post back if you need further assistance.

Plug off the wall. Open up behind, you will see a thin tube coming down from the control panel (pressure switch to be precise) to the waste area below. Disconnect this carefully from the top, blow into it, air should pass thru, it shd not be clogged; refit carefully. Before refitting, fit a similar tube to the pressure switch & blow - you should hear a click; if not there shd be a problem with your pressure switch. Anyway refit your old tube & try the machine.

Dont forget to refit the main exit hose at the position you found it. All you guys are going to rate me....................

SOURCE: whirlpool duet washing machine door lock error

My front loader has the door locked and I can't open it. I have already turned off the power and that didn't solve the problem. The manual says that if you try to open the door too soon after the cycle completes, then the door locks. How do I open it now? What do I do?

SOURCE: Whirlpool Duet Washer GHW9150PWO Have F11

Well du is a door lock error but it can also mean an error with communication to the main control board or ccu. f11 is also a communication error in either the ccu or the mcu ( motor control board)......easiest thing to try is to unplug all your connections to the ccu and plug them back in and try it again.....sometimes a wire harness just may be loose....if that dosent work I would look at replacing the ccu ( central control unit )

Removing the Washer Top
Three screws secure the washer top at the back of the washer. Remove the three screws and lift the top from the washer.

Removing the Console from the Cabinet
Disconnect the Touch Pad/LED Assembly ribbon connector from the left side of the Central Control Unit and release it from the wiring harness brackets on the right side of the washer top

Remove the detergent dispenser drawer by pressing down on the release tab at the back of the drawer and pulling it completely out of the washer.

Once the drawer is removed, remove the screw in the recessed hole next to the drawer opening. Release the tab securing the right side of the console to the washer

Open the washer door and place a flat-bladed screwdriver into the slot in the bottom center of the console. Push the console up to release center console tab. Be sure the ribbon cable clears the cabinet frame.

Removing the Touch Pad/LED Assembly from the Console
The Touch Pad/LED Assembly is removed as a single unit and contains the Push Buttons, LEDs, cable, etc. The buttons can be replaced separately

Machine won't start code dl F

The machine is not starting because the door lock fails to lock the door as what error code FdL stands for. It flashes after the door locking routine fails to lock the door after 6 attempts. Replacing the door lock/switch assembly is the only viable if no problem is seen with the wire harness connecting the assembly to the central control unit. The link below contains the detailed instructions in replacing the door lock/switch assembly.

E dl and the door will not open

F/dL error - Door Lock Error

A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be unlocked. It will try to lock it 6 times before displaying the error.
  • Door Lock Mechanism broken or removed from the Door
  • Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly
  • Check the wire harness connections to the Door Lock/Switch Assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU)
  • Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure
If all the connections are good replace the CCU.

This is a very common problem with Whirlpool duet front-loading washers and additional details you can find in this link: Whirpool DL_F_Code

Hope this helps (remember to rate this answer).

The code f-DL displays whn I try to start the machine . I was thinking the door lock was jambed so I used a flat tip screw driver to jog the lock. The problem now is the lock is now locked and won't...

Remove the screws attaching the bottom flange of the lower front panel to the machine cabinet then pull the panel down and off. You can prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access and remove the screws more easily. Once the panel is off, reach up along the inside of the front panel and locate the bottom of the door lock and switch assembly on the right side. Locate the tear-drop shaped tab then gently pull it down until a click is heard.

You can also remove the door gasket retaining hoop by stretching apart the retaining spring at the bottom of the door opening. Gently peel the part of the door gasket near the door lock/latch assembly off the lip of the right side of the door opening. Remove enough of the door gasket to access the door lock/latch assembly behind the front panel. Pull down gently on the release tab until a click is heard.

The FdL code indicates a door lock failure and you need to replace the door lock/switch assembly if the problem persists after resetting the door lock. Click on the link below for the details of the procedure.

Door locked error code dL/F

If your door is already locked and you get an "F" error press and hold the cancel button, and select drain/spin. If this still doesn't work and your clothes are trapped inside do not resort to getting out the crow bar and a sledge hammer. (Though you may really feel like doing just that). You can manually unlock the door by following these steps:

- Unplug washer or disconnect power.
- Remove the lower kick panel.
- Reach up along the inside of the front and locate the bottom of the door switch/lock unit.
- Located on the bottom of the door switch/lock unit is a teardrop shaped tab.
- Gently pull the tab down about a 1/4˝ or until a click is heard.
- The door may be now opened.

I have a Duet GHW9400PWO and it will not turn the water on. When I press the start button I am getting an error dL and then F and it just beeps.

Error DL sound like a door lock problem. The door latch lock assembly is all one part. If door doesn't lock a signal is sent to the main control telling it there is a problem. Thus the error code. Nothing will work till door locks. 3 screws hold the assembly in place, but you have to partially remove door boot to get the door latch out.

The door on my whirlpool duet washer won't lock

Sounds like door switch is bad. Look at inside front panel of door, get model number, search on internet for "error codes" with that model number. It should show "DL" door lock defective, not secured, failure. One sure way (in most cases) is to push in on door and hold it firmly closed,it is works, bad door switch. To replace, order new switch, take the whole front panel (front assembly including door) off, switch on back side of panel. DO NOT TAKE DOOR HINGE LOOSE. Replace switch. By the way, before taking apart, UNPLUG FROM WALL.

F dL symbol on Whirlpool duet HT

It is saying there is a problem with your door Lock. when you close the door does it hold like it use too? try to open and close the door if it doesn't really close properly then you will just need a door latch. If the machine gives you an f11 code then its the main computer board that can also give your the door lock error. I would check the door first though.

Cycle wont start then I get Error / dl

the dl code is a door lock error, open door and examine door lock assy mounted on front panel.look for a plastic push pin approx 5inches up from square lock assy.if that pin is missing, replace door lock.if pin is there, you could still have bad door lock or loose wire connected to door lock.
