try download skype and see if you can see your self first, if not try down load new version of software or un-installed the drive and restart your PC. at pc start up it will auto install the new driver
to activate the wifi switch it is i believe it is down of the left front of the laptop actually on the front of the laptop itself and normally a slide switch which needs to be pushed over to the right before it will activate

If you haven't change any of the security parameters on the laptop, the default is a 30 minute wait before it resets/unlocks the account. If that doesnt work you can use a program called WINTernals that will allow you to change/reset the password.
Firs of all I like to remind you the model that you have doesn't come with integrated microphone. However It will work any standard PC microphone that you can obtain around few dollars or less from IT stores. All you need to plug the microphone to the right side second socket socket as illustrated below

To use the external vga connector of a laptop, you have to activate it. In many notebooks it is Funtion and F7 (Fn-F7). In your notebook it may be F5 or F6, look for a monitor sigh in the F keys.
The activation may sometimes rotate in sequence , ie, External + LCD, LCD, External... and so on.
