I have a Maytag Centennial top load washer. When washing in normal or heavy with large or super load size, the washer remains in sensing mode. Some water does start to fill, but never reaches wash cycle. The lid is locked and light not blinking. Sometimes, it does work normally when selecting small load, but need it to work all modes. any idea what the problem is?

This unit does not handle a super large load as it advertised. When you put a super large load, the sensor is over-sized and will not move on the next cycle.

SOURCE: Maytag Washer Getting stuckon wash cycle

the possibility of it being the timer is most likely..as the rest of the cycles remain ok.. if you require a timer, you can get one here at this link..(click the link here) http://www.easyapplianceparts.com/AdvancedModelSearch.aspx?ModelNum=HAV4657EWW&mfgModelNum=&fkMfgID=1

please be aware that you will need the machine serial number in order for them to issue you with the correct part/s you will require.. parts are cross referenced with the serial number.

these diagrams will also enlarge in order for you to maintain your machine by yourself at little but the cost of the parts required... but please DO NOT ATTEMPT ANY REPAIR YOURSELF if you think you may not have the technical know how to follow these technical drawings..hope this helps

Repair manual Where I can download the repair manual for the maytag centennial washer

This is a manual. Since there are so many versions, you might need to search for the appropriate one. I searched for "Maytag centennial top load washer repair manual". There was a Maytag site, but download was very slow. http://applianceassistant.com/ServiceManuals/8178628_ml-3_maytag_centennial_top-load_washer.pdf#zoom=100#scrollbar=1#toolbar=1 http://applianceassistant.com/ServiceManuals/8178628_ml-3_maytag_centennial_top-load_washer.pdf

Maytag Centennial Top Load Washer drains as it fills.

The water is probably siphoning out of the tub. Your drain pipe is either too low or the drain hose is down too far into the pipe. Take the drain hose out of the pipe and lift it high. I'll bet your problem goes away

Maytag centennial washer not working properly in Normal cycle. After it shuts off there is still water in the bottom of the tub. I can move the dial to another setting such as Casual cycle or Heavy Duty...

We have the same problem. The Normal cycle still works, but after the final spin cycle, water is again added (1 gal est.) and the machine stops. Problem occurred after washing an old 25 x 30 inch rug which partially disentegrated when washed. We were seeing particles of the rug in subsequent wash cycles during drain into laundry tub. Don't know if something is plugged in the washer or if it is something else. In another load after the rug wash, the top of the washer was lifted during the wash cycle. The water problem occurred immediately after lifting the lid as the wash load went through remaining cycles. Maybe this affected the timer? Maytag customer service suggested unplugging power cord to re-set timer. This didn't make any difference. We need a technician to tell us if this is a timer problem or something else?

I just purchased a Maytag centennial washer. I just love it the Maytag products arethe best. Question I am using the HE detergents as the book suggests, however how much bleach do I use?

According to page 6 of the manual for the "3 cu. ft. Capacity Maytag® Centennial® Top Load Washer" and page 8 of the manual for the "Centennial® High-Efficiency Top Load Washer", not more than 1 cup (250 ml) should be used in either machine.

Also, it should be added to the dispenser cup on the front left of the machine - not directly to the wash as it will interfere with the detergents ability to clean the clothes.

I hope this helps & good luck. Please rate my reply. Thanks.
