Paper jam at exit

Have you set the tray to thick cardstock in the printer?
If not try that. This will let thicker paper go through more easily.
Make sure you bot have the tray as the printjob set up as the same type of paper.
How much does the paper weigh?
Also try printing from the manual feed. You're paper path is shorter that way and easier for the printer to handle.
Does it only jam on this type of paper?
Might be a fuser easy but don't think that's the case with this one.

Phaser 7400 bypass feeder feeding cardstock much too fast

You need to make sure you set the proper paper type for the tray you are using. (Plain Paper feeds much faster than card stock)

Also recommend you use the bypass tray and open the rear door so the cardstock goes straight out the back of the machine and not delivered to the top.

My HP 4100 printer prints with a black smudge clear down the page. I clean the roller but continues to print bad copies. Should I replace the cartridge?

Problem is either the cartridge or the fuser.
Put paper in the manual feed tray(tray 1)
Print something. When the paper gets 1/2 way into the printer, open the
top cover. Pull out the toner, look down at the paper.
If it has the smudge replace the toner. If no smudge, replace the fuser.

My piece of cardstock paper keeps jamming barely out of the tray. is there something i can do to have it go all the way through. I have a samsung clp-315 laser printer.

Yes, you have to change the print properties on the computer to let the printer know it is using cardstock. Please refer to the owners manual to get the information. The manual can be found at www.samsung.com under the support section.

Hp laserjet 1320 paper jams constantly. not even one page prints. what could be the problem?

could actually be the paper your using. make sure your using at the very least multipurpose paper or laser paper. check to make sure your settings for paper is also set to regular paper and not cardstock or special paper or anything else

Mfc 8460n paper jam

Check to see if this happens when you use the drop down manual feed tray. If your printer works fine using the manual feed tray the problem is with your paper tray. Check to make sure it is set to letter size. I've found that sometimes the 'teeth' holding the paper stop on the paper tray wear out and when the printer goes to pick up paper, it pushes the paper stop out of position causing the printer to think it's using a different, much longer size paper thus preventing it from feeding all the way through. You'll probably need a new paper tray if this is the case.

Paper too thick?

You will need to use the manual feed and insert the cardstock one page at a time. First look at the rear of the printer for a purple dial. Roll the dial downward. This will allow the printer to exit straight out the back of the machine. Allow enough room at the rear of the printer so the cardstock doesn't hit anything on the way out. Next look at the front of the machine at the **** just above the paper tray. You'll see an envelope icon. Align the cardstock when manual feeding one sheet at a time to the left side of the **** next to the envelope icon. When you hit "file, print" select MANUAL FEED in the print window.

The 4L will only do cardstock by one at a time in the way noted above as the feed system isn't strong enough to make the sharp bend coming out of the tray or in the back to bend it around and into the top tray.

Paper jams in feed

That helps, yes. The reason I asked about the black mark, is if the drum wasn't turning, and the paper was bumping into it, you would get the mark along the lead edge.

You are right about one thing, these printers are workhorses. I have a 6P that just won't die.

There's a similar problem on a site I use, maybe you will find it useful:
