Ice dispenser not working

This problem started after I cleaned my frig but forgot to turn it back on. Stuff in freezer was still cold, but not frozen solid the next morning. From this point on the ice maker makes ice, water dispenser works, but in the door ice dispenser does not. When I push a glass up against the dispener lever, there is a grand thunking noise from inside the door. I can get the auger to spin by hand, but I suspect that it's not spinning with power from the motor. I have emptied the ice bin and let it thaw out and dry completely before replacing it in the frig. I've made sure the teeth connecting the motor to the auger are lining up. Any other suggestions?

When there is no ice in the bin the auger spins just fine. Auger motor does spin without bin in place. It seems like it doesn't have enough power. Is that a possibility? The motor sounds the same...

My auger wasn't turning and thanks to the hint about holding in the door switch I could see that the motor was turning. I disassembled the auger unit and sprayed WD 40 in the front of the unit nearest the door. This was the area that was binding and got the auger spinning freely. Then re-installed the unit and problem was solved.

Frigidaire frig. model#FGHC2331PF7 is dripping onto top shelf and the filter has ice cycles and what temp should freezer and frig be

If it's brand new and leaking, call the place you bought it from and have them fix it. As for the temp settings; there is a center default in the freezer and you should start there, the fridge also has a default which should be OK. If you need it colder turn it up in small increments and give it a day before you make any additional adjustments. The "cold" in a fridge or freezer also depends on how much stuff you have in the unit, and how often you have the door open.

Refrigerator is warm. found ice packed in vents on frig side cleaned them out but now we noticed that the vents in the back of freezer are also packed with frozen ice build up. could this be the reason for...

That ice is the reason that the freezer is working but the refrigerator is not cooling. That ice is
blocking the vent that allows cool air to leave the freezer section andfall down into the refrigerator
section.
The fix is free: defrost the frig - pull the plug, and let that icce melt out of there, clean up the
wet mess, and turn the frig back on - problem solved.
Keep the vent area free of ice (and other blockages, like frozen peas covering over the vent), and
you'll keep the problem from recurring.

is the fan running in the freezer? most likely the evaporator coil is frozen over. is there frost build-up on back freezer wall. what is the model #? could be the defrost timer, heater element or the defrost terminator.

ICE MAKER

to solve the frozen food problem, turn the temp back to 4. this should be the factory recomended setting. the only dispensing crush ice is probably a bad solinoid. you will find this behind the back wall. it engages to lift the thin metal rod on the bottom of the ice bucket to dispense cubed ice. and the ice being frozen in the bucket is probably a bad ice flapper in the door. it's letting warm moist air into the ice bucket that is freezing

Ice continues to be made, about a week ago, the part that turns the ice to crush it or dispense it doesn't work, it also takes about 2 minutes when water is activated before it will finally dispense, all...

Open the door and hold the door switch down and try the ice dispenser. Do you hear any thing. Take all the ice out of the bin and try. Anything? Take the bin out and try. Anything? The motor is behind the back cover where the bin sits. See if you get power to it using a voltmeter. If your are, probably bad motor. If not dispenser switch.

You have a solenoid switch which switches the dispenser back and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working or the parts connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to observe to see if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the solenoid

You have two points where you can check the dispenser water. At the rear where the water supply comes in is the water inlet valve. If you disconnect the dispenser water line and then see how fast the water comes out when you try the dispenser. If it's slow here there is a valve our water supply problem. If it's normal, disconnect it at the bottom of the freezer door and try again. It it's normal here it may be frozen in the door. If this is the case open the door till it thaws. A blanket over the opening will prevent thawing of all the food.
