Using the connection wizard of windows mobile 6.1 didn't help, I am trying to find out right settings. Please do give if you have, I tried few settings from other sites, but I think somewhere something is missing.

    Dear Jay,

It seems, no matter what we try, vodafone live will not connect as they do not allow data transfer which is important for windows based browser. In normal phone that is why vodafone live would give access to limited number of sites (maybe to popularize).

In my old phone i tried logging in through Gmail application, which did not work and gave an error message that data server could not be contacted (at that time i could access to gmail from phone's browser).

Once I activated the mobile internet, it automatically started working.

Besides Access point name is "www" and not portalnmms.

Conclusion: Vodafone gives limited access to the internet hence it does not work on windows mobile which needs unlimited access data server of vodafone.

    Dear Jay,
Nokia N70 ME is not a windows mobile (OS) based mobile, as was my Motorola L7 model. Many webpages opened in it Motorola L7 including the ones you mentioned. But Vodafone live does not work on PDAs. Right now i am using HTC Touch Viva with Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system. I am a prepaid customer and vodafone live did not work on it. Even HTC technical staff confirmed that it wont work, hence I had to activate mobile internet.

    Many thanks to you.

In vodafone live all sites ll work.. I have checked...
You said that u cant able to get the gmail application work properly in the old phone right!!! Whats the mobile model???
In my mobile (Nokia N70ME) Gmail, Ygo, Rediff, Gmaps all are working fine with the vodafone live settings.

Whether you are a postpaid or a prepaid customer???

You check it for another option also..

select "start" ---->>> select "settings" ------->> select "connection" ---->> select "Comm manager"
    Inside that select "Data connection"
    Check wether its "enabled"..

Do one thing activate the service, then give a restart to ur mobile and check out whether its getting enabled then you connect....

If you are a prepaid customer i ll give you another option... You reply!!!!!!!

I have recieved mms from ivodafone said pls visit mms .live.vodafone.in and view ur mms but it is not opening

You are right, it'll not open up. The message indicates that your phone hasn't activated Gprs. Contact vodafone and get your phone's gprs activated and access the service. There's no other option to view the message except through gprs (only your mobile number's gprs).

If you know how to activate the gprs, you can do it but if you are not sure, it's best and easiest to call the vodafone customer care.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I am getting connected but unable to browse web pages.

You have only set this up on your phones GPRS Network Settings. You need to configure it in the Sony PC Suites Network Settings. Use the Vodafone GPRS Network settings in their and you will get a working Internet connecting from your phone.

Vodafone live and internet settings

Hi Emma,

Have you tried contacting Vodafone customer services? they can send you a settings from their network very quickly.

By the sound of it, you just need to create a new connection, if you can go to the settings look to make a new one.. call it My isp or something if it asks for username password - leave them blank or type "web" for both username and password. Try connecting to that connection only and the browse vodafone live.

let me know how it goes;

Thanks.
