I had the same problem several months ago with a craftsman (shut down during a long rip), and the reset switch had tripped but did not actually pop out. I tested everything in the line between the power supply and the motor, and found out that the reset switch was not conducting. I was able to reset it manually before re-installing it into the saw, and it's been fine ever since. I'd test that before you start pulling the motor out, it would be a much easier fix if the switch was just sticking.

I have the same problm with m Craftsman model 137.248830. I have found that the switch cover under the saw fills with fine sawdust over time and will overheat the cutoff switch. I have to invert the saw, pull the switch cover off and clean the saw dust out with a tooth brush and then everything seems to be fine again. Seems like a sealed cover would be a big help so I may try to make a gasket to help seal out the dust next time I have to dismantle the switch cover! good luck!

First check the saw with power off and unplugged from the wall socket.
turn the blade by hand, if it is hard to turn, check the motor for object that is logged in the motor. if you can't find any, then you have a burned motor. if it is not, check the motor for broken wire and burn saw dust. do what ever you need to do to correct the problem.

Overload reset button on porter cable 10 in table saw

Why this is in sewing machines I will never know.

But this is an example of pushing a saw beyond it's limits. At best you should have cut one post, shut the machine off and let it cool... then go for the next. (Better yet get a friend with a saw mill saw the thing down for you)

I believe you have burned out your motor. Off the store you go....for a new one.

First things first, check the outlet that the saw is plugged into. Does it have power? If so then progress to the saw itself and check the reset button which is usually located on the front panel but sometimes on the back or sides. Press the button firmly to make sure it is not tripped and if it is this will reset it. Make sure the power is turned off and attempt to turn the blade manually ( caution,
the blade is sharp so a pair of gloves is recommended ). If the blade turns with very little resistance then turn the power back on and try the on/off switch. If the saw starts it may very well have been the circuit breaker that had tripped.

Saw stopped working mid-cut as if power loss. Blade turns freely, was no unusual odor. Reset button no help. No problems prior to that event. This is a Craftsman 10" table saw.

Could be the motor burned out. That shouln't happen and if it did craftsman is really good at replacing damaged tools. I'd return it for a replacement.

Table saw won't turn on.

Check that a breaker has not been thrown, and there is power to the plug that you are using.

Reply your findings if this isn't it, and I will give you additional help.
