Question about Ovens

My oven won't start. no display, only beeps on certain functions

240 v is ok, oven light works. no diagnostic codes. happened once before with an ff3? code that i was able to reset and it started working again. this time nothring happens excepts the beeps. i believe that the original failure code indicated an open clock circuit

i posted this in the section that asks for the make and model, but maybe that appears separately from the question section.

    it is a whirlpool GBD307

when the error code showed in the past, it was E6 F2, not what i put in the posting. it seems that this is a common problem so maybe the forum will help me.

    thanks

Hi, the actual circuit that is open is the cancel key connection. Here is a check list that will help. I would consider replacing the ERC if the control is integrated.

1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board).
2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).

Please rate and god bless:)

Most control panels are easily released from the back side. there are usually clips and a few screws that are holding it against the control panel housing. when you open the oven door, you can see most screws above the top oven door seal and most side screws are located on the front side corners of the control panel housing.

You can pull up a part list and exploded view of this oven. this will help with the disassembling of the control panel. The actual breakdown of the panel is on page 8. the link is below.

Oven wouldn't light so I replaced the igniter. It now lights fine at start up, but won't light when oven needs to reheat.

Certain igniters work together with the oven gas valve that senses current, once they get hot, may not function properly. Was the igniter lighting up at all before? Could also be the temp sensor.

Hello Diana,
Their are a few things that should be checked. I know its going to be tough to check on a built in double wall oven but one thing that needs to be checked is if their is 240 volts ac entering the oven(i know the breaker is ok) but the connection at the back of the oven can burn, then the proper voltage wont enter the oven.
Another thing is a high limit thermostat thats inside of the control panel, need to checkif it has blown.
Last thing i can think to check is if 120 volts is at the clock, if not 120vac that explains the blank display

Hi, the F2 error code means that the oven is overheating for an unknown reason. F3 and F4 indicate a problem with the oven sensor, which usually requires replacing the sensor.

What does the error code F1 indicate, on a Wolf Oven?

I had the same problem with a Wolf L-Series double wall oven (Model DO30) and called for service (under extended warranty contract). The tech told me that the F1 error is a latch problem (you know the one that grabs and locks the door during self-clean cycles). He cleared the error using a series of "secret" button presses on the control panel and the problem cleared. Now, when it happens (which isn't very frequently), I do the same thing he did ... press "0" and "Temperature" for the oven causing the problem and hold them for about 5 seconds. The oven will ding and the display will show some diagnostics, including the error event. Press "Cook Time" and "Stop Time" while in this diagnostic mode to clear the error register, then press "Off". I've also tried to keep the area across the top of the oven opening clean (with a little degreaser), especially around the latch, and I've sprayed a bit of WD-40 into the latch periodically for lubrication and cleaning.

I have Fridigaire double oven part# PLEB27T8ACA with F8 code prob

wow, that is so weird...i was just getting ready to write the exact same thing. this last time mine beeped, i just kept letting it beep for several minutes. if kept on. i then went in and pressed all the buttons except for cancel and nothing happened. then i pressed the oven light button. the beeping stopped. not sure if it's coincidence or if that was what i was supposed to press. i will keep messing with the buttons and let you know if i figure it out. i will dread if it beeps all night long.

F1 code on display pad

That error means the main control board has a internal failure. The board will have to replaced to fix that issue. If you need detailed repair help with that visit the link below:
