Your hardrive could be faulty. If you take it in to the company you bought (apple/pc/etc.) they'll be able to give you a proper diagnosis. Hope that helps.

My laptop does not work, when I turn it on, it just makes a clicking sound.

MOST LIKELY HARD DRIVE FAILURE. HAVE IT TESTED BY A LOCAL SHOP. WHEN YOU DO JUST GET AN ESTIMATED ONLY AND THEN MAKE A DESION IF IT IS WORTH THE COST. IF YOU ARE TECH SAVY JUST DISCONNECT THE HARD DRIVE AND SEE IF THE NOISE GOES AWAY. GOOD LUCK.

When i turn on my laptop it makes a ticking sound and then a black screen telling me to reboot

A ticking sound is usually a major indicator that your Hard Drive is / has gone out. I would look at replacing your Hard Drive. If it is a bad Hard Drive it would lock your system up bad enough to have to remove the battery to shut down the system.

Makes ticking sounds and wont work

The ticking noise is either something touching the fan in the Fan Assembly; or the Harddrive has gone bad.

My thoughts?

My hyundai elantra keep ticking wat can i do to stop the noise

A "ticking" noise can be caused by several things. First thing to check is the oil level. When an engine is low on oil, there's a lack of lubrication and you will hear the lifters "ticking". Some cars make a "ticking" noise with the AC on. The ticking is the compressor kicking on and off.

My Acer Aspire 5100 laptop makes a loud high pitched consistent noise when I try to turn it on. then the noise stops, then a black screen comes up with writing, but when i hit resume, the computer restarts...

The problem might be the power supply charger that plugs into the laptop, unplug the charger and run the laptop on battery power, is the high pitch sound there when you power up? if this solves the problem, it is the power supply charger that is the cause.

Ticking when cruising and not under load or going down hill

Not a lot of information to go on. I really need more. Is the sound coming from the engine, transmission, rear wheel, front wheel, or you just can't tell? Does it tick when going down the road with the clutch lever pulled in? While you have the clutch lever pulled in, turn the engine off and see if it goes away. Try different things in order to get a "change" in the noise. Once you find something that makes the noise change, then figure out why.

Now, you're ticking could be an exhaust leak somewhere. Look for black soot around the exhaust pipe joints. I could also be rock hung in your drive belt. Roll the bike and look on the inside of the belt for a small rock or something hung in it.

AKAI PT5492S - Makes a ticking noise,black

This usually is indicative of the EXTREMELY HIGH VOLTAGE anode connection somewhere between the flyback transformer and one or more of the crt picture tubes or the splitter. Being that this circuit has a running voltage potential of over 30,000 volts if you are not familiar with these YOU CAN BE KILLED messing with it!!! What happens is that there is a breakdown of insulation over time usually from dirt or other environmental contamination. Usually a good cleaning and replacing the HV anode wire that has failed. (hint) it will be the one that the "ticking noise" is coming from. The ticking noise is actually the high voltage arcing to the chassis/ground.

Be careful!!!!

My fridge keeps making a ticking noise, sort of

The evaporator fan, inside the freezer will sometimes come in contact with ice and make this noise.
If the overload on the compressor is tripping it will make a clicking sound.
