If your keyboard is not working in your laptop, it could be that your keyboard cable has come loose from your motherboard over time. This is not usually the case, however. In most instances, the keyboard has shorted and a replacement keyboard needs to be installed on the system in order to make it work properly again. If you are not used to working on laptops, I would not suggest you do this yourself. The keyboard is usually anchored in by several screws and in certain models of laptops can be difficult to remove. A computer repair shop should be able to remove the keyboard and get you a replacement. However, if you are careful, you can remove the keyboard yourself. The keyboard should have information on the back of it such as model number. You can use this to find and order a replacement keyboard.

Cannot find the screw that secure keyboard on an everex step note laptop

Sometimes the keyboard is held on with a screw in the center, accessed from the bottom of the case. In most cases, though, the keyboard is held in place by 3 or 4 screws just above it under the bezel that you just removed.
I've also seen keyboards that are held in place by little clips at the top of the board and you need to push the clips in with a small screwdriver to release the top.

My laptop key popped out.

I think it would be better if you decide if you want to change your keyboard or not. If you decide that you want to change the keyboard and have it replace by yourself you can go to this site, check if the part is available or not and order it if ever.

Hope it helps.

The letter k on my keyboard functions only when some pressure is applied the netbook is almost new and has been hardly used is it possible that the keyboard needs already to be replaced

Judging on your symptoms, it sounds like a replacement keyboard might be in order. If the machine is out of warranty, you can purchase replacement keyboards yourself.
Search "(computer model) keyboard" into eBay. You should see many products available for a reasonable price.
You should have a screw or two on the bottom of your laptop that have a keyboard icon next to them. Removing these screws should allow you pop the keyboard out and replace it. There is also a ribbon cable under there, so be careful when removing. For more info, search "replace (computer model) keyboard" in YouTube or a similar site. There should be many tutorials on keyboard replacement.

Certain letters are not working

When keys go faulty the entire keypad needs replacing. You can't replace individual keys. I would suggest contacting dell and ordering a new keyboard, it's an easy fix:
If you need to purchase one, I did locate: For $16

Help me

Witch password???

Bios password???

Everex has a known problem with this model of laptop. It has been known to set its bios password by itself. It is a simple fix, but should be done by a proffesional. There is no charge for this repair at a Everex repair center.
If you want, this is what needs to be done. Remove the piece of plastic above the keyboard. Unscrew the 2 screws in the keyboard and lift the keyboard up( No reason to disconnect it ) Unscrew and remove the modem card in the center. There is 2 solder points c88 on the system board. You need to short those 2 points out while you press the power button on. This will reset the bios password. This should take someone about 5 minutes to do.

If this solved your problem please rate this solution as "Solved" or ask here again in order to find another possible cause
