You can but a replacement screw from the drill manufacture or you can take the old one out and buy one from a local hardwarwe store that sell drills> did this to a dewalt about a year ago then found out the ww graingers carries all the replacement parts for this brand so you might try wickes first.

Chuck falls off the drill

Hi, most Hammer drills have a securing screw with an anti-clockwise thread that hold the chuck in place. Open the jaws of the chuck and look into it, if there is a hole then you need the correct screw to hold it in place. Remember to screw it in by turning it anti-clockwise. Good luck, John..

I want to replace the chuck on my Makita 6280d 14.4v cordless drill. Help please........

The chuck may have a left hand screw insde and at bottom of chuck, some chucks scew on and the screw holds it in place, may have to put an allen wrench in chuck and hit the wrench with hammer one way or the other to losen it.

How to fit a bosch keyless chuck

remove the old one. check inside the throat of the chuck to see if it has a screw. if it does turn it left to right. if no screw good. take a very large allen wrench and place in chuck tighten it. place it on a flat surface, bench edge, where the chuck is free. lift the allen wrench up higher than level and take a large hammer and hit it down hard. this will break it loose from the spindle. when you go back with the new one put never seize or grease on it some it won't bind. next time you change it it will come off easier.

How do i replace the jacob chuck on a hilti hammer drill?

Open the jaws of the chuck all the way open. Inside the chuck you will see a slotted screw. Use a large flat head screw driver and remove screw. It will have left handed threads.

After you remove the screw put the end of the chuck in a vise where the 6 flats sides are. Put the drill in low gear and reverse. Hold tight and turn on the drill. This should run the chuck right off the spindle.

Hi. open the chuck to the max. inside the chuck you will see a screw. remove it. put the drill in reverse. hold the chuck. a vice may be needed. pull the trigger. this may work, however in my experience, they are very tricky to get off. I have never had a faulty chuck but have had many faulty gearboxes. i have had to buy ney chuck to fit with the new gearboxes because i couldn't get the good chuck of the damaged gear box. good luck.

How do i remove the chuck from dewalt dc925 cordless drill, dosnt have a screw inside the chuck, read somewhere that i need a special tool but no instruction or picture of the tool. please help., thank you

The dc925 and the current model dcd950 along with several other models of Dewalt 's line of cordless hammer drills DO NOT have a screw inside removal requires a CHUCK REMOVAL FIXTURE part #
233804-40 also you can't use a generic replacement chuck. As of 2/2/2010 the prices on the Dewaltservicenet web site are $72.74 for
the tool and $69.70 for the chuck, part # 330075-90.

My 24v cordless drill is working ok but the switch on the side of drill for turning hammer on and off is missing. what spare parts do i need to get. would it just be the switch hopefully nothing else fell...

In order to switch from hammer to non hammer on the 13624 there is a ring on the clutch near the chuck. The button on the side is for switching from forward to reverse. The part number you will need is 2601099112. This is something that happens quite often on these drills and you may consider getting two. They are less that 5 dollars each.

How to unlock the chuck

this how to get a chuck off a drill.look inside the chuck for a screw. it will be a left handed screw.once you get the screw out put the chuck in a vice . you will need to squeeze it very tight. then put the drill in reverse and pull the trigger.if i wont come off you will need to hit the chuck with a hammer while you are holding the trigger. if you have a bit stuck in the chuck and cant get it out put the chuck in the vice and hit it very hard with a hammer until the chuck falls apart.i work on drills every day ,this is the only way we have found that works
