Enter the account name and password to open the router setup utility.
Navigate through the setup utility until you find the screen that will let you change the password. You will need to enter the old password to change it.
Decide on a new password that has good security to a hacker. The best password is more than 8 characters and uses both lower case and upper case letters and numbers. Some will allow you to use special characters also. Do not make the password anything that can be found in a dictionary or any date of significance.
Enter the old password in the change password page of the router. When prompted then enter the new password. You will be asked to enter it twice to confirm that the correct password is entered.
Immediately, record the new password in some secure location that you can find if you forget it.
Confirm the password change on the router page and log off the router. To check the information and that the router has been setup correctly with the new password, open the router address in the browser again and login with the new information. If you are able to login, you have successfully changed the password.
to change the password, do this: 1. go to into "setup" from the boot up entry (turn on comp, then press F2 or F12, depending on your OS; look for them in the bottom left corner; if you don't press it before the OS loads, you'll need to restart and do it again) 2. Once in setup, you'll see a menu bar - for each item on the bar (i.e., File, Edit etc) select F9 and select yes when prompted to save changes. Do this for each. Then go to the Menu Bar Option that will allow you to change the password. It will ask you for the old password - do not enter anything - simply hit enter - then hit enter for the new password entry, as well as the "confirm" password entry (if applicable, should be). Then, go to exit, and "exit saving changes". The OS will automatically reload. If and when you are prompted to enter a password for the OS, hit enter. You should be brought to the OS (windows) desktop. If this does not work, please let me know.

try typing your password in with the caps-lock on. many times this may go unoticed if both password fiels show * instead of the actual password being entered. if that doesnt work for ya go here and chose one of the 5 options to recover or delete the need for a password. you must first download these and creat an .iso disk to be run at startup.
