ADD WATER LIGHT WON'T GO OFF

AFTER REMOVING AND FILLING THE RESEVOIR THE ADD WATER LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. THE MACHINE WILL NOT NOT BREW AFTER TURNING OFF AND ON, EVEN UNPLUGGING.

- I have fixed the pot by firmly tapping it on the back side-both sides with my hands. The 'fill' light went off and the 'brew ' light came on. I will not remove the resevoir again. I will fill with a clean cup/pitcher. These machines seem to be tempermental.

What espresso make do you have? I just posted the same question! Mine won't work either and its so frustrating...I called the nuova simonelli tech guy and he said that it sounded like the water I was using wasn't hard enough, but I have well water...so basically they don't know whats wrong.
