Booting problem i have a problem of my computer when i started my system it restarts gain and gain when i remove the processor cleaned the socket i starts normally in the middle of the work the syatem hangedpls solve my problem

Could be temperature problem, or thermal shutdown settings set too very low. If it is desktop apply a new thermal grease to the cpu or properly reseat its cooler. Also dirt buildup to your cooling system.

When I boot computer I have no video, no beeps. Power supply checks good. I have cooling fan, stand by light is on motherboard. It has a segate barracuda 7200.9 160 gig hard drive that is making no noise....

System won't post with the 12 V cpu power plug connected (only runs for about 5 sec)


switch off the system and remove the processor heat sink and the processor clean them with a clean cloth now insert the processor in the socket then apply athin layer of heat sink compund to the processor and fix the heatsink tightly in the socket an drmove the memory card and clean with clean soft cloth and insert them and restart the computer if the problem still presists change the processor with any sutable for the socket and check if the problem still presits remove the f pin conector from the smps and switch on the computer if the processor fan is working properly then switch off the computer and recontct the four pin conector and switch on if the processor fan just initate then you have problem with motherboard

remove your memory card and wipe it clean with a clean cloth and insert the memory in the slot dont forget to remove all the addon card ide or sata cable power to hard his and cd drive restart the computer see if the display is ok if not remove the processor fan and the processor clean it with clean cloth and fix the processor to the socket also clean the heat sink and apply a thin layer of heat sink solvent and fix the heat sink tightly to the socket if the display doesnt come change your processor which suits the socket

My Dell studio 17 will turn on but the screen is black. The only thing that lights up on it are the volume icons above the key board. How do I fix this?
