Kenmore Dryer Gets hot on top 970C8106200

This Dryer gets super hot on top. All lint traps/doors tubes etc. have been cleaned. I've noticed on the back of the dryer that there is a burn mark close to the top. Can this dyer be salvaged or is it just worth getting a new one?

Sounds like the heater is cracked. You can get it worked on but the price is not worth it. Also due to the fact that you are seeing burn marks on the back of the machine it is advisable that you get a new or new/used machine to be safe. Remember family and safety come first

Dryer heats but clothes wont dry and have checked lint screens front and back. How much "air flow" should be coming out the back of the dryer?

Do not use this dryer until you fix it. You need to check the pipe or flexible tube that comes out of your dryer (where the hot air comes out). Even though you clean your dryer lint trap some lint gets by. If you can get to it, go outside and find the opening where the dryer air comes out of your house. Then open the little door and look inside but not when the dryer is running. If there is any lint inside clean it out. Then disconnect the air outlet from the back of the dryer and inspect. It should be free of lint. If it is full of lint clean it all out. You can also call a pro to perform the inspection and cleaning. Good luck.

My dryer heats up but does not dry clothes. I check ventilation and lint trap, there is no buildup. what could cause it to take forever to dry clothes?

If the drum gets hot to a real degree it has to be a blockage between the drum to where the air exits the home.

They do make a brush designed to go into the area where the lint trap is and be long enough to come out the rear of the unit---A lot of places will come out and professionally clean from trap to vent outlet

A blockage can be dangerous as hundreds of fires happen each year from the lint catching fire in the dryer.

The tube to the outside may seem clear but if blockage anywhere from lint trap to it, that will cause this problem and present a possible fire hazard.

Its not unlike having your vac not pick things up very well...except there is rarely a fire with that.

Hot Point Dryer won't dry, gets hot on top.

An educated guess would be either the lint tube or the tube that exhausts the air outside is blocked with lint----no airflow or greatly reduced flow will cause this symptom.

I have a kenmore 80 series dryer. 18 years old. Makes loud buzz when starting and overheats and stops in about ten minutes. I've bypassed thermal fuse and samething happens. I've also cleaned out...

You don't want to bypass the thermal-cutoff. If the thermostat is malfunctioning, it WILL overheat and cause a fire!! For the age of it, I would replace the whole dryer! It's going to cost you more in time than the value of the unit.

I need to figure out how to get the front panel ff of my daughter's kenmore dryer Mod #96093800 to clean the lint from inside. Also the dyer heats up but doesn't get hot. any suggestions

First you have to remove the back and then top of the dryer, then you will have to remove the drum. After the drum is removed you may see screws along both sides on the inner corners of the front. (You may not have to remove the front once drum is out.) Remove these and the front should come off. There is usually lint jammed in the front tube if this dryer has a lint trap under the door, thus causing the heat not to circulate through the dryer.

The dryer isn't drying properly. It gets hot its not drying. Its a Kenmore Elite. Also the coil has been cleaned and its not catching lint.

Make sure the drum is turning and the blower is functioning. Vacuum out all air passages including the hose going to the outside vent. Remove the lint trap, and wash it in hot water and detergent to clean away fabric softener deposits from the screen. If the motor is not running, find out why.

KENMORE DRYER MODEL # 11072212100. THE DRYER GOES

that dryer has boost coils down by the ignitor. You're probably hearing some clicking down there too.....those coils go bad over time just like a light bulb and they will light the first time and generally don't after that cause they overheat. Part number on those coils is 695540 and they usually come in a set for around $20 to $30

Dropped bleach pen into lint trap. How do I get it out?

its not too hard to get out.
you will need a #2 phillips screwdriver and or a 1/4" socket driver
remove lint trap
remove 2 screws at lint trap
unplug unilt
open the top (2 clips between lid and front panel in the crack, push them with a butter knife or putty knife to release top) opens like a hood
pull out dryer and pull off rear panel
on the left hand side there is a metal duct like thing lol
that leads to the lint trap at the top.
there should be 4 screws at the bottom where it gets round.
remove them, and wiggle the duct open. your pen should be there..
