Hi,
If the the four lights on the computer come and then go off. Then these are the diagnostics lights telling that the motherboard has gone bad and needs a replacement

If they flash in some sequence . The the problem could be with one of the internal components.

For more information on the same you can visit www.support.dell.com

Green light but no picture or sound.

First thing you wanna try is a manual video reset.

It's probably a good idea to hook up the regular av cables as well.

While the PS3 is off (red led)

Hold down the power button until you hear the second beep, quickly release.

Let me know what happens.

Dell Inspiron 2200 won't start

First thing I would try is to unplug the machine, remove the battery and clean the contacts on the battery and in the battery housing with a pencil eraser. Blow out the shavings and reinstall battery - the way it sounds is that there may be dirt or corrosion causing an interference between the computer and battery contacts - for charging and powering up.

Screen wont light up

Try connecting an external monitor to the Dell Inspiron 2200. If the monitor display is fine, then your laptop’s LCD display panel is defective. If the monitor display is dark, problem is with either the video card or motherboard located inside your laptop.
Here’s a link to disassemble the LCD unit: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins2200/en/SM/display.htm#1084976

My laptop will not turn on

When the system doesn't light at all, it indicates a failed component on the motherboard. Check the jack on the computer to see if it's loose or noticeably broken. If not, thenyou will need to take it in for a professional diagnosis in order to track down the exact problem component.
