Could you please help me here? All my data is in this phone and I need to find it back ASAP.
Make sure the sim card is sitting snugly in the phone and if you have recently downloaded or added and 3rd party software that can mess up the phone, had the same problem and after I went through recently added programs I removed 1 at time and found the program causing the problem...have not had a problem since...have a Treo 680 for past 2 years
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

try clearing up your web history, sms, or unwanted software....on the browser, click on blazer top left corner, click on history and clear all..tested if it doesnt work back up your phone and perform a master reset

I wish I could say exactly how the problem was fixed. I just know that after I was using the calculator I set the 680 down and it shut off automatically. It now seems it was in some type of endless loop, one that I couldn't get out of even after taking my battery out multiple times. The Treo 680 does have freezing type problems that I wish could be fixed... Maybe it is my Tealphone 3rd party software or something like that??
I had similiar problems with my 680 but the problems are gone now. Mine had to do with 2 specific add on apps, Olive Tree Bible Reader, which had a patch, and Ultra-soft Money, which had a specific issue with the budget function. I applied the Olive Tree Bible reader patch and deleted the budget function of UltraSoft money and my issues are gone.
if you are using Vista ultimate, it is a 64 bit operating system and therefore palm doesn't have official support for it yet, but someone has found a solution: http://forums.palm.com/palm/board/message?board.id=windows_hotsync&thread.id=17980
BACK UP your Treo 650 software and data BEFORE doing the following.
1. RESET the Treo 650 back to default set by holding power buttom following by reset the treo.
2. There is a way to reset the voltage regulator in the Treo ; believe
is by holding the RESET for > 3 seconds. Believe need to take out
the battery in out during this process. Can't recalled the correct
steps. This could could reset the Treo's power regulator.
3. TRY reinstall your palm software with minimun software or 3rd
parties one, this software could be running in the back ground which
drain the battery.
Try above steps might help.
Mine also got the same problem last two weeks, my treo could felt there
is kind warm sensation if it took out from my waist pouch after leaving
it for sometime on the table. BTW, the battery could felt quite warm
If yours also behave the same which I believed the Treo got some kind
of contact problem which draw more power then usually does.
Now, mine got no more warm sensetion after carry out above steps. It
gets better as Compared to last two weeks ago BUT not that good as
compared previously when it can last 3~4 days after a full charge.
