Maytag dependable care dryer model LDE9804ACE barely gets warm and takes FOREVER to dry clothes. It doesn't matter what cycle you run it on (except for no heat of course), it gets just a little warm.

make sure the vent system is clean. any restrictions can cause the safety switches to activate and turn off heaters. When it cools, the switch resets and starts heating. Unit will continue to cycle the heat off and on. Make sure all elements are working.
Start there.
Sometimes blower wheels will get loose in dryers. Sometimes they will get a whole lump of lint in them or you can hear a rattling noise in the dryer, this is the blower wheel, its worn out and it can cause the fuse to blow too,or it can half *** work and take fifty forever's to dry the clothes.Or it could be just that the dryer needs a good blowing out .I use a lawn blower to get all the lint out of the dryer as well as the vent pipe and vent to outside. I take the filter HOUSING out and wash it also. That is, I remove the housing and clean is good! Making sure that the dryer is properly flowing air is a good thing!
Could be 2 things... either your heat source is out of repair or your vent is blocked. Since you say it only gets warm I'll assume the problem is with the gas coils inside the unit. These parts are replaceable
This is usually a simple heating coil malfunction. The coil may have breaks in it causing it not to work. It could also have something to do with 1 of several heating sensors that may be broken, telling the dryer's heating coil that the dryer is too hot, in effect turning off the heating coil. If your dryer has a round lint filter in the rear of the drum, it was 1 of 2 models of Dependable care dryers produced in the 1970's. If this is the case, i supose it would be up to you whether you want to try and get it repaired or not. If you have one of the more recent models,,, the lint filter is directly behind the door, at the front of the drum. and in this case it would probably be a good idea to get it looked at it as Maytag is a relatively dependable brand.
I ALWAYS START WITH VENTING WHEN CALLED WITH LONG DRYING TIMES BUT I HAVE SEEN WHERE ONLY HALF OF THE HEATING ELEMENT IS WORKING, WHICH IS PRETTY RARE. A NORMAL LOAD WOULD BE WHATEVER THE WASHER HAD IN IT WHICH WOULD BE LOOSLY FILLED TO THE TOP ROW OF HOLES IN THE WASHER TUB. THE ONLY OTHER QUESTION I WOULD ASK IS IF THE WASHER SEEMS TO BE SPINNING OUT PROPERLY AND IF THE CLOTHES ARE GOING INTO THE DRYER TOO WET.
CHECK YOUR WALL VENT AND DRYER VENT AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE CLEAR,ALOT OF THE TIME IF BLOCK THEY HOLD THE DAMP HOT AIR IN THE DRYER AND WILL TAKE FOREVER TO DRY,IF NOT THAT IT CAN ONLY BE YOUR HEATER BOX OR HEATER BOX FUSE,IF YOU HAVE A METER YOU CAN CHECK BOTH,LET ME KNOW-MIKE
It takes the dryer forever to dry a load of clothing, no matter how many pieces or thickness. Yes, I have already checked the vents out of the dryer, there not clogged. Any other suggestions?
heating element is fine. iteither works or it doesnt, cant work halfway, your problem sounds like you hav a clogged vent a kinked exhaust leaving the home. try looking at the exit point form the home can you see any lint around the housing, VENT VENT VENT
vent and lint screen are clear.
