Does not use enough water to wash the soap out and the load has a smell.

I checked the hoses not the problem.

See that your inlet pipe is fully on, and that the passage of water is not restricted; could be some dirt has clogged the inlets. Check this out thoroughly, right into the machine point, that is by opening out the top to examine the pipes. Plug off the wall first.

just manualy add more water until you find the real problem
