Question about Fuji Rod Repair Kit

My Fujifilm S9600 draining batts rapidly...

My Fujifilm S9600 seems to be draining the batteries extremely quickly (after a few shots).
I have two sets of 4 rechargeable AA batteries which I've been using alternately for quite some time. I let them run down before topping up, as is recommended. Because both sets of batteries (independent of each other) are now draining rapidly, I'm beginning to suspect the camera. Comments please?

Hi !! With your comments I was thinking on al old problem that I have with a Fuji S7000 using a CF card, it drains the battery very fast, but the problem was the CF card, not the camera, I switch to a XD memory card and problem solved, Are you using a CF memory card?

My fuji fine pix s9600 drianes the life out of the battery with in minits is there a fix

This is from the What Digital Camera review (quoted for the purpose of review only)

'When it comes to playback things are a little less satisfactory, with a noticeable delay scrolling between images and the battery life using regular AA cells is disappointing - a set of copper-top Duracells expired at around the 200 frame mark, which may be OK for a day's shoot, but NiMH rechargeables or Energiser Lithium cells are preferable.

So, looks as if you need high power batteries, or else re-chargeable cells. Normal cheapo-cheapo ones will drain rapidly.

Why does battery drain rapidly?

Hi Earl, for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix or parts inquiry. If necessary transport your vehicle to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. Good luck and have a nice day.

Dear Sir, I own a FujiFilm S9600, I was using it perfectly fine with near to full charge of batteries. I clicked a few photographs in Afternoon and turned off the camera after that. When I tried to Turn...

Hello Nikhil!
It is clear your batteries are low. Recharge the batteries and try again.
If you find the batteries run out fast, that means you have used the batteries for a longer period and they cannot hold the charge much longer. Then it is time to replace the batteries.
In hot climates like in your country the batteries may run out slowly even when not in use.

My batteries drain so quickly when I put them in. I put in brand new ones and they last maybe 5 minutes. is there something i can do to change this?

hi, what battery are you using? most of the kodak digital camera using AA battery has a problem if you are not using KODAK BATTERY that specified in the battery cover. try to use duracel, energizer battery it will work after 5 to 10 shots of picture only. if you notice also the height of the said 2 battery are smaller compare to kodak batt.that's why the contact between to batt and pin inside of the camera are not good.
try to use kodak battery.

Recently purchased the Sony DSC-W290 and I have

how long do you usually charged the batt? to make charge last slightly longer leave the batt inside the charger for an hour after the charger light goes off. if you have a fully charged batt you should be able to take approx. 300 pics or 2.5hrs approx.batt life. for viewing pics it should give you approx. 6800 pics and approx. 5.5 hrs. of course, number of still images and and batt life may vary depending on the camera settings.so if you're zooming in and out, using the flash, going from camera to play mode, turning cam on and off, using other settings and features of the camera, this will cause the batt to drain much faster.also ambient temperature also affects batt life.if it's very cold, the batt drains a bit faster.also, it's recommended that if you're not using the camera to remove the batt.retaining the camera settings, date & time will cause batt to drain even if your not using it. if did this and still you think it's odd that your batt drains quickly and looses charge even if it's fully charge, it might also indicate that what you might be a defective batt. one way to find out is to try using the same type of batt from a friend or a relative that has one to confirm and further isolate issue.anyway, supplied accessories has the same warranty that applies to your camera.so you may send it out and have it replaced if needed.hope this helps.thanks:)

S9600

i have a Fuji S9600 which seems to have a faulty On/Off dial. When swithing the camera on, the playback screen is displayed without any problem. However when selecting the picture taking mode, the LCD or view finder becomes a very faint grey colour and is dimly illuminated. When switching the camer off, this grey screen still remains until the batteries run out! The only way to switch off completely is to open the battery compartment. has anyone any ideas?

Cheers

Andy
