A reset may not correct your symptoms, which you did not reason, but here is how to do a "hard reset".

Unplug the oven's power cord or turn off its circuit breaker for about a minute, then plug it back in (or turn the breaker back on), then set the clock.

Change light bulb microwave
If your owner's manual doesn't cover it, then you will have to do some disassembly, and may have to remove the oven from the wall, depending on the model number, which you did not mention.

But since you posted this is the Whirlpool microwave section, I'll assume that's it.

    does it not light up at all? A microwave has a fuse on it. Probably accessible from the back panel. if not you would need to disassemble it. Most likely cause of this is slamming the door broke one of the safety switches the door has so the microwave knows when the door is open. And it shorted against something when it broke. It might have simply blew the fuse but then again you might have fried it.
