Question about RTO Oar Sockets

Yamaha 50hp outboard

There is water coming from the three outlets at the back of the outboard the exhaust and the other 2 as well as the pump outlet is this normal or is there a problem ? and what could it be ??

How to install a evenrude outboard water pump


the exhaust ports start from the side of the engine block 2hp -90hp then v4 and v6 and v8 are between the v blocks ! from there they go down the leg unit , top rear of leg have an outlet for tickover then the main outlet is either through the prop or above it on small or old type engines !

Yamaha 50 outboard bogs at hi speed


Make sure carbs are clean,check exhaust tube isn't blocked,check resistance readings on charge coil,make sure filters are clean,no fuel leaks in fuel line,tank has open breather,fuel connector not blocked.if this doesn't solve the problem could be faulty cdi unit

I have a evinrude 28hp outboard which is not pumping water. drive shaft seems in place and impeller in good nick. have put hose at bottom of inlet pipe and water runs through motor and out outlet. water...


Check pump housing and plate for wear,make sure aluminium housing not corroded under plate. Suggest fitting electric drill to drive shaft and emerse lower unit in bucket of water.make sure drill doesn't get wet.is motor going into gear,maybe splines are rusted off in crankshaft,could also have holes in inner exhaust side plate

My Yamaha 4 stroke 50hp engine was running fine. When i went to replace the cover, the water stopped running through the "pee" hole.


i have had this on mine and it was a sort of insect that made a mud nest in the small hole and it blocked the hole up ,try poking it out with a bit of wire

Marine stores have a lead lined foam sound proofing mat. You can cut and glue it in place.
