1. Double Click on HP director to start it up. Look for "HP Director" on your desktop (the screen in front of you). It is usually an icon that materializes after you install your printer. (It may look slightly different with different models.

2. Scan the document by clicking "Scan."

3. Select "Save to File." (You can set up a folder ahead of time so you know where to find the document or photos once they are scanned). Often times the computermag-glass_10x10.gif will create a default "scanned documents" folder and organize them by saving them on the date scanned.

4.Click scan and then wait for box to appear.

The software will prompt you to save the file. Put it in the folder you created (you can see the path/folder). Give it a name you will remember.

Then click "Save"to finalize it. The document should be in the folder that you designated.

Hope this helps

How can i use epson px660 3-in-1 printer to photocopy a document

You can scan it by selecting the following functions on the control panel. Once you scan it, then you can print, email or save the document. The Scan to PC function lets you automatically scan your original and save it as a JPEG file on your computer. The Scan to E-mail function lets you scan and attach the image file to an e-mail message. The Scan to PDF function lets you automatically scan your original and save it as a PDF file on your computer. You can also assign a program to scanner function on the control panel. Am I able to scan a picture into my computer. I have windows 7, the model is a mfc-5440cnz and do you need ink to do this? thank you for help

The best way to scan images to save on yourcomputer is to use the scanner software on the computer. Not the scan functionon the scanner.
You don't say what type of scanner software you have but usually scannersoftware works this way:
1) Place photo on scanner
2) Open scanner software
3) Using the software, Initiate scan
4) Name the Scanned item and save it to your desired location/folder
Note: some applications will automatically save to --My Documents--My Pictures
5) Repeat process for each pic to be scanned

Also, if you are just scanning, it should not matter what the ink situation is.

How do I Scan a doucment with my HP PSC 1315 All-In-One InkJet

open HP director click SCAN DOCUMENT set scan for editable text YES set original contains graphics NO if it doesn't, YES if it does (no results in smaller file) if you want to create a PDF file, leave SCAN TO set to SAVE TO FILE if you want to create a word document, change SCAN TO to MICROSOFT WORD click SCAN click ACCEPT (bottom right) tell it NO if you're done, YES if you want to scan something else If you scan more than one thing all of your scans will end up in a single multi-page file rename & save file to permanent location as you would normally.
Good Luck

Epson stylus PHOTO RX425

Epson has software called "Epson smart panel" and you can select scan from the list of operations.
Turn your scanner on, (windows OS) click on "start" then click on "all programs", look for epson smart panel in programs list, click and let panel load, then select scan.
It will take some time for the scanner to warm and scan, so be patient, after it is scanned your options are to print, or save. If you save, be sure you know where its filed or "tell" it where to save, I recommend creating a new folder before in "your pictures" titled "scans" . Usually after you do this, it will save it there by default.
