Question about Kenmore 44102 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Finish spin I have been having off and on problems with the final heavy duty spin. At first it was the pump and we fixed the bobby pins and money that keep clogging that up. By the way for us females the cresent wrench works great for holding the clamp open when checking the pump trap. The heavy duty cycle didn't work on the final spin, but the permanent press cycle did. Today, it didn't work so I took the pump trap found more money trapped...still didn't work and now it does. So..on and off it works. Any ideas?

Re: finish spin

Maybe you could make some sort of trap to keep all that "junk" out of the pump chamber. the impeller is just a plastic piece with a "volute" impressed upon it that will jam on metal [coins etc] send me an email address and I'll see about sending you a diagram of a "trap" I'm envisioning.

How to fix the pump in maytag neptune washer

Remove the back panel there are four screws in panel. the pump is acessable on left side facing back. The pump is bad or you have something stuck in the pin, bra support wire, and have found coins in them also. Have towels handy to absorb the water.

I have a bosch maxx 1000 (wfl2000au/30) machine will not spin. pupm impeller was jammed by a bobby pin. i removed the bobby pin. when machine is on spin cycle only the pump opperates. does not spin at all....

If there is no water in washer, and it will not spin, I suggest you remove the motor, and check the brushes.
If they are less than 3 or 4mm long, they need replacing.
Hope this helps.

It spins but doesn't drain. I am going to replace the water pump and the belt. Do you have other suggestions?

don't bother wasting your money on a new pump as they have about 3 pieces to them and can be easily fixed and chances are its simply a 10 cent coin or a bobby pin jammed in the rotor the pump justs twist apart and watever is jamming it should be under the first part u pull off it

Kenmore washers, heavy duty 80 series, no spin

Hello, Your problem is going to be with your lid switch, this is located normally either in the control panel or about half way down on the right side under the lid. This is a safety feature to stop you opening the lid while the machine is in a high spin. Once you have located the switch trace the wires back to the wire harness in the control panel. Disconnect the lid switch from the wire harness and with an ohms meter check for condinuity on pin 1 & 3 (the 2 outside pins not the middle this is a ground) You should find you have no condinuity and should replace this switch. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!! Mike

Bobby pin stuck in washing machine - high pitch noise during spin

I just had this exact issue and was able to solve it myself. I thought I was in for a $300-400 fix. It sounded like the bearings or transmission was going out it was so loud.

My first clue was from the bobby pins **** in the stainless wash tub. The first thing I would do is put a 2x4 underneath the front to prop it up and pull the belt off. Spin the three wheels down there and see if they're all smooth. In my case the water pump did not spin smooth, something was wrong.

To get to the water pump, you need to take a putty knife to push the clips in the top, one on either side and the whole top will prop open. Next there are two bolts you need to unscrew and the front will slide out. The water pump will be on the front right. You need to take a large plyers or vice grips and squeeze the clamps to pull the two hoses off (keep a towel handy because there's probably water in them yet too). Pull the hoses off and now you should be able to have access to the 3 x 10mm bolts the hold on the water pump. Pull the pump out and inspect that there isn't any thing obstructing the impeller blades. In my case two bobby pins were wedged in there making the racket. I was able to take a real long needle nose plyers and pull them out.

Putting it all back together is reverse of what is above.

Whew! thought I was going to be out some bucks for the repair tech coming out! Hopefully someone else finds this usefull!

Wont spin or drain

The drain pump is jammed or clogged up. Remove the filter cover and check for bobby pins, coins or bra wires. If clean, remove drum to pump hose from the pump and check for any foreign matter. Try to turn the pump impeller by hand. It should turn freely. If pump is not free, replace it.
