Digital converter box/TV/DVD/VHS combo;

Hi. I just recently bought a TV digital converter box and wanted to (confirm?) how I may have the TV/digital converter box work, and have (seperately) the ''JVC'' DVD/VHS combo work. I have it hooked up right, but it's that one wire from the back of ''JVC'' DVD/VHS to TV (Target brand ''Tritech'') - model: T2000-FT, 20'', serial: L06C06767, where's the digital converter box: ''Zenith'' model: DTT901, serial: LSX300-4PM, ULFile: E225515, p/n: MEZ41754513, FCC id: BEJ9QKE00710. I don't mind switching back and forth between TV and digital converter box, and TV and DVD/VHS combo, but that needle end wire that plugs in on back of TV and ''JVC'' DVD/VHS combo . . . I followed through with manual, and even unplugged all re: digital converter box and had TV on channel 3, say to update the clock exhibited on DVD/VHS combo, help, please? answer, don't answer, either way, your call or, not, whatever . . .

SOURCE: ZENEITH DTT900 ANALOG TO DIGITAL CONVERTER BOX CONNECTIONS

Can't go through the VCR in the normal way. The DTV box must be tuned to the channel you want to record and left there. Cannot tell VCR to tape one channel and watch another nor tape multiple timed and multiple channel shows unless the DTV is tuned to that specific channel. This makes most VSR functions useless.

SOURCE: digital converter box

Greetings kathy76turne,

In February 2009 you will be unable to receive ANY analog television signals therefore the digital converter box will be a necessity to receive any over the air broadcasts.

I am unable to answer the question about the mini van's electrical capability, however you might find the following link handy to get more information.

SOURCE: No antenna reception with digital converter box.

Hello Faznmc,

I have found that with an ordinary antenna connected to the converter box it can receive nearly all channels, however I have run into cases where I had to use an amplified TV antenna to pick up signals. I have started telling folks that when they install their converter boxes to try to use the plain old rabbit ears antenna, but if that does not work, use an amplified antenna, and that usually does the trick.

I hope this helps
Thank you,

Hello. Your digital TV is all set up to recieve the digital signal that is now the standard signal coming into your home. The old analog signal is history. If you still want to use your VHS/DVD recorder you will have to get a signal conversion box, at your local walmart or radio shack. This will take the new digital signal and convert it so your old analog VHS/DVD can process it properly. Joe

Have digital TV have 3 yr old sony VHS VCR DVD player combo

A DTV converter box will take digital broadcast signals from the antenna and convert them to a format compatible with the VCR. You will be able to record programs received through the DTV box on your VCR if you could record analog over-the-air programs before the digital changeover. You can use either the RF output or the component output from the DTV box to input to the VCR.

How to record ditigally on old comb tv/vhs

If you have the box hooked up to your 1996 combo turn or tune on channel 3 if the converter box is selected to channel 3 you should get all your digital reception from the box to your tv/vcr. Select what you want to watch or tape on the box, what you see on your tv will record to your vcr when you select record.

Hooking up my DVD/VHS player to TV & Convertor box

I would just hook up the dvd/vhs player with the red, white, yellow rca cables that should of come with your unit and just go to the input on the tv to watch your dvd/vhs player. This will give you a better picture and sound while allowing you not to have to watch dvd/vhs on a channel which helps make the dvd/vhs player independent. Also if possible I would hook the converter box up with the red, white, yellow rca cables to the tv as well if your tv has more than one set of red, white, yellow plugs since it is a better connection that coax and you probably watch more tv than vhs/dvd anyway. So bottom line try to hook up both boxes red, white, yellow and watch each box on different inputs instead of like channel 3 or 4. Also to record of converter box you can run coax from converter box to dvd/vhs combo and make sure your dvd/vhs player is on tuner input or channel 3.
