Hi there,

Try getting the latest version of bootcamp again, and making sure you create the driver cd it asks you to create during the install.

This part is critical as it installs the software needed for your keyboard and mouse to be recognised by windows xp.

Hope this help.

Nathan.

During the boot process tap the f8 button three times this will boot into safe mode where the only things working will be your mouse and keyboard enabling you to attempt to repair your computer Advanced Boot Options screen appears.

Select the Safe Mode option using the up and down arrow keys, then press the ENTER key. Choose "Windows XP Home/Professional", depending on the version of the operating system.

Press ENTER. Shortly, the welcome screen should show.
Log in as "Administrator". Click Yes to not use System Restore Mode.

Click the Start button. Choose Run and type in "control user passwords" (without the quotes). Click OK.

Select the "Administrator" user. Click Change my password. Enter a new password in the corresponding text boxes. Click OK. Write this password down and store it in a secure place Close the User Accounts window and restart Windows.
hope this helps you

Wont boot into windows xp....

If you have the setup disk, boot the laptop with the system disk and when you are asked select repair.

The system either was attacked by Malware or became corrupted.

Will not run xp pro i'm stuck in 2000 mode mother board is ak77 pro 133 vt8233 will not run xp pro i've been told im pretty much sol. Is this true?

If you have a valid Win XP Pro CD and want to install the operating system you'll need to format your hard disk drive. If you have allot of data on you're hard disk drive, (In Win 2000) Suggest you create a second partition within the free space of you're hdd and install windows XP Pro. Boot you're system with the XP CD. Pay close attention to the display screens. Follow the instructions for creating a second partition.
Format the new partition. (Quick). Install windows XP on the new partition. Once completed you can copy your personal data to win XP.
If you choose to keep the win 2000 partition and you do not wish to have a dual boot system than remove/delete the root files from the 2000 partition. These files; Autoexec.bat and Boot.ini. You're new XP Boot.ini should read like this;
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /usepmtimer
Once you're satisfied an no longer need win 2000 use windows diskmgmt.msc from the run command to delete the win 2000 partition.
Win 2000 uses a FAT16 where Win XP uses the FAT NTFS.

Cheers!
Mike

Toshiba Satelite M100 PC notebook wont start up windows XP

This sounds like a memory problem. Download and run memtest 86, it is a small iso file that you create a bootable cd from. Run this for at least one pass.

If the memory passes boot from your xp disk and choose R to get into the repair console. Once there type the following commands

fixboot
fixmbr

then try the install again. Hope this helps

Fairly old toshiba laptop with hal.dll error wont even boot now..

Well it must be an error when you install the windows XP...If you choose just to upgrade the your system then it might have an error on dll. Please reprogram your system i mean reformat your system. And not just upgrading well if ever you have an important data in the system then you must have a externat storage device then take it on your laptop.

SYSTEM SLOW TO LOAD, OVERHEATING AND CANT GET DRIVER

you can hold down the option key while you start up the computer. It will give you a grey screen and give you choices of startup systems... Choose the Mac OS and see if the start up is quicker. Sounds like the windows xp setup isn't working properly. I'd think elimination of the existing pc partition on the hard drive while running in mac mode and then running Boot Camp according to apple's instructions. Boot camp is on the Leopard OS disc and will get your computer ready to instal windows xp with an authorized xp disc. After it's up and running in windows xp, you can reinsert the mac os disc while running windows and the drivers will be installed for you...it works great... Plus you can download a copy of apple's bonjuer software and it will help you set up your printers to work on your mac as well.... Good luck and let me know if you need more help... KEN
