I have a shift3 black series deck turntable/converter, which lists compatibility with windows XP and vista (!)... I need to use it with my Toshiba Satellite which has windows 8. I dont even know were to...

I guess the first thing you need is the USB cable. Tahe a good photo of USB output of your turntable and wisit any computer prts shop. They will help you select the cable you need.
More complicated issue is the software. Probably it had an XP/Vista driver but you don't have it
You should connect it and try if your computer can recognize something
If no way, try exploring Sharp's website for contact/support

How do I connect a Stanton T80 turntable to my PC?

Hi,
First of all you can try with the line input of your Pc audio card. There will be 3.5 mm stereo socket in the pc audio card (blue color ) which will marked as LINE IN. To connect the turntable to this socket you need a RCA to 3.5mm Stereo converter like on in the picture bellow. I have also added a link to a video which will help you to do the same. In the video the are showing a cassette deck. In you case Turntable in place of cassette deck.
You have to set the switch on the back of your Turntable to LINE OUT. Then you can use any software to record the signals from the LINE INPUT of your PC.

If you need a high quality recording the you have to use a special converter which will do the job neatly.

To convert or upload (copy) tracks in LP in good quality then you need a interface unit between the Turntable an PC. Which will convert the analog audio out to Digital signal ( RCA to USB). The unit will come with the driver for it. That you have to install on your PC.

Keep on thing in Mind that when your are using such a converter between Turntable and PC you have to set the switch on the back of your Turntable to LINEOUT.

Here i have added link which will lead you to such a USB converter. Which will provide you studio quality stereo.

Can't convert vinyl to an audio file

Hi there; I had the same problem, not being able to install or even view the files on the disc. I have XP therefore out of curiosity I ran it on a PC with Vista and it worked; so I promptly transferred the disc back into my disc drive and bingo it worked. .....Don't ask me how...but it did. Good luck

NEED HELP WITH A TTUSB NUMARK TURNTABLE

You answered your own question: "He has Vista ..."

Vista still has a lot of bugs in it in regards to audio codecs. Most manufacturer's won't provide support on PC's with Vista.
