Question about Computers & Internet

My ECS P4S5A REV. 1.5 motherboard will not turn on. Power LED flashes on then off, after I press the power button. I changed the power supply, still same problem. I need a copy of the repair schematics. Thank you.

A bad Power Supply with a weak voltage rail, will produce the symptoms you've just described.

1) IF all of the LED lights were on at once, they would use less than 1 Watt of power.

2) EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts of power.

3) A typical Processor can use from 51 to 125 Watts.
Just depends on what Processor it is.

You press the Power On button. The first chipset (Integrated Circuit) to receive power is the BIOS chipset.
BIOS detects what devices are installed, does a Ram Memory count, turns the Processor on, and hands the computer over to the Operating System.
(Windows XP is one example of an O/S)

Have you tested the main voltages of the Power Supply?
A) The 3.3 Volt power rail
B) The 5 Volt power rail
C) The 12 Volt power rail

(12 volt rail must be 11 volts or more. Less = new Power Supply)

Power LED on but no boot up

it could be your power switch, veriy that it isnt the power supply by

1.) un-plug it from the main board
2.) look at the main board connector(one coming of the power supply)
3.) you should see green wire and next to it a black one
4.) using a paper clip bridge the too wires
5.) if it works proceed to net step if not get a new power supply

to check case switch and board switch

1.) plug in power supply to main board
2.) look at the pins where the power button connects to
3.) using a metal object (blade screw driver) bridge the pins

if the board should start up>
then its your power button on the case that is bad, you can try to repair it, chage it or buy a new case,

if it doesnt work.
1.) ensure that jcms(jumper to flash the bios) is set correctly
2.) unjack each drive one at a time to see if any is causing stalling
3.) get a new main board
