Question about HP LaserJet 5L Printer
After several years in storage I tried hooking up an HP LaserJet 5L to my son's rebuild pc. The computer seems to have recognized what kind of printer it is, but i cant get it to do anything. The top yellow light is on - I think that indicates an error. It wont turn off unless I unplug it and wont print a test page. Any ideas?
First of all, I wouldn't spend 10 cents on this printer at this point, but is there a toner cartridge installed? It could be empty, and it's probably not going to print very well after all this time anyway. Try giving it a few shakes side to side to loosen any toner that may be inside, if that doesn't get it going, then pick up a new laser printer for $70-$100 (basically the price of a replacement toner cartridge)
