Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Please Help. I Have a Samsung PCL54" HDTV rear projection TV. The issues I have is that the TV powers up and has sound but no picture. The one thing I've noticed was that the red light on the front panel, next to the on/off button, flashes off and on 9 times before going out. The other thing I've noticed was that when I use the remote to move up and down between channels it doesn't seam to go to a channel. But when I key in a numeric number for a channel it goes to that channel and I have sound but no picture. Also when I try to change channels using the up and down channel selector, on the front panel of the TV, I find there doesn't seam to be a channel that is located. About 3 months ago I replaced the convergence board which solved the other problem I was having, thanks to your support and salutions from Fixya web site. Thanks. I'm hoping you can help me solve this new issue. Roger.

Dear customer

Often times when a screen goes black and the sound continues, it's ahandshake issue with the cable box. Next time, try turning off thecable box and turning it back on. In most cases, the copy protection inthe boxes is set high, and as a result, it keeps the picture fromcoming through occasionally. Turning off the box will reset theconnection and should give you normal picture from then out. after checking this out if its still not giving picture.....

looks like the T con board is out.... you might have to replace it...

The right name is logic board,,AKA [T-Con board]

In most LCD it is part of the main board,,

If you have sound, and the back lights kick in,,, it's the logic board,,, in most cases the screen will flicker when you try to changechannels with no menu or sound bar.

you can buy this item at the following link

http://www.samsungparts.com/part_detail.asp?catalog_name=Parts+and+Accessories&product_id=BN81-01286A&search_model=LNS4692D&cookie_test=1

just do make sure its the same specifications as the tcon board ur replacing it with..

thank you
all the best wih ur tv
have a nice day

Picture went out and red light on the front by power button is blinking. When I turn TV on I can hear sound but no picture,, then TV turns off automatically after a few seconds.

Hi,
It seems problem with low screen voltage to three picture tubes in this rear projection tv.
If standby light blinks 5 times after three seconds long pause then adjust screen volts of each picture tube to solve this issue.
Screen volt adjustment requires expertise and job of professional so please call local tv repairman to help you.
Thanks.

The tv clicks on but no picture or sound

Hi if your tv is a DLP or LCD RPTV most likely it's a ballast issue which is the board that powers the lamp.It could also be your lamp if tv is between 2-4 yrs.God bless you!

Having an issue with a Samsung HCP4752W rear projection hdtv...

if its on for that long its probably not a main capacitor issue a blown capacitor of that size would
have some distortion in its shape look for bulging at the top or bottom or fluid leaks at the base
a good capacitor looks like a small tin can
from the sound of it your problem is elsewhere if the picture is the picture is good then it may be a regulator or power transistor if the picture is distorted then its in your convergence circuit.

My projection tv

Power issues (Tv True True (``````````` (``````````` 0 95250 95250 clip_image002.gif not turning on) were typically due to faulty ballast. While the TV reports a bad lamp it is the ballast itself causing the issue. Samsung True True (``````````` (``````````` 0 95250 95250 clip_image002.gif is well aware and will replace both the ballast and the lamp (since the lamp can be prematurely aged but the bad ballast). After replacment most people stop having issues.
