Question about Canon Pixma iP6000D InkJet Photo Printer

Open Question

IP6000D Paper won't feed at all then reads "out of paper"

I have this printer second hand so I am not sure on it's operation but I was told nothing happened to it and no jams but now it won't even move the paper.
When I go to print it starts up and the motor runs and some gears move but what I think is a kick plate does not move and neither does the right most rubber roller. I looked at the troubleshooting but nothing talks about it not even attempting to feed.

SOURCE: paper jamming and feeding unevenly

I have the exact same problem. Until last night it worked perfectly, and when it ran out of paper, I put more papers in the back of the printer correctly and since then it won't print, it pulls paper to the right and the paper jams. I tooked the printer to the service and they say that I'm lucky that the warranty did not expired yet, cause the problem is a "manufacturing mistake", and that they will take it to the Canon service.

I realy hope they will do the job. I'm expecting to repair be done till tomorow.

SOURCE: mp810 paper feed issue

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

SOURCE: Error E3 when no paper jam

MP160 PIXMA paper feed jam E3 error. I completely solved this on my Canon MP160 printer but it is a common problem and the fix may work for others such as MP130 MP140 MP145 MP150 MP170 or MP180. With the problem I had, the printer would make the usual motor whirring noises but would not feed the paper. The usual c-clunk sound that indicated the feed roller has been engaged was not there. The screen warning said to remove jammed paper and the printer showed an E3 error.

The problem was caused by the ink cartridge carrier becoming stcky on its track and not fully returning to the rest position on the right side (as viewed from the front). The fix involved taking the printer apart and lubricating the cartridge carrier track and the ramps that lift the cradle that rises to cover the printheads. Unfortunately you have to dismantle the printer and separate the scanner unit to get to the lubrication points. Its not a quick fix.

When you have the printer apart you will see a prominent white lever held by a coiled spring just behind the rest position of the ink cartridge carrier. The lever is actuated by the ink cartridge carrier when it moves to the right. If the lever is not actuated, the motor drive will never engage the large grey feed roller and the paper in the hopper cannot be fed into the printer. Make sure to also put some lube onto the lever at the point where it is struck by the ink cartridge carrier.

Check the adjustments for the paper your using. Open the printer and look on the rollers you'll probably find paper or an obstruction clear it and also clean then rubber moving parts with isopropyl alcohol to give them their grip back.

How do I access the rear tray roller feeds to check if anything is stuck all of a sudden the paper is skewed on the right side and paper doesnñt enter the feed

You say the paper is scewed to the right which means absolutely nothing if you think about it, isn't the left hand side also scewed? Usually one side of the paper is pulled down leaving the other side up thus scewing it.
Firstly make sure nothing has fallen down the paper slot, secondly make sure the sliding paper adjuster to the left of the paper is up tight against the paper, even a 1 millimetre gap can cause this problem, thirdly look down the paper slot with the paper in and make sure there is no gap between the bottom edge of paper and plastic shute or case, you really shouldn't be able to see much of the two pieces of white plastic, now press the green start button.

You do know that you can use 4 x 6 photo paper in the paper feed? or else you have to tuck it into that little try under the printing outlet and be sure to click the change of feed button on the upper right of the console.

Automatic Paper feed

Check the feeder roller inside the printer for any foreign substance stuck to the roller, this may cause it not to grip properly. You can also try a few sheets at a time and make sure the paper tray is gripping the paper, but not too hard. If this fails, the roller may be out of place somewhat, try to reposition it. Let me know how you get on.

Canon iP6000D - reads "No paper"

Unfortunately I don't know how to fix it but I do know how to get around it. Or at least on mine I do. My printer does the same thing to me even though I have plenty of paper. I've just kept inserting paper into the printer until it finds that "level" that it needs to say it has paper. If you find that level you can either continue putting in paper from that level on or put something underneath the paper like a way to keep the paper high enough so that it reads it properly. I know it's not a solution but it's a loophole of sorts.
