I have a Samsung 550 JetSet phone. This afternoon the battery was low, but not dead, so I plugged it in to recharge. When I did so, the screen went black, and the following message appeared: ============================================= USB Download Mode ============================================= The phone cannot be turned off, and no combination of keystrokes does anything to change it. I have removed the battery for over one hour. When I replace it, upon pressing power on, the message reappears. Removing the battery is the only way to turn it off. I do not have a home telephone and thus cannot call Cricket, my service provider. Nearest service center 35 minutes away and closed until tomorrow. Does anyone know of a master reset button, or any other thing I could try? Since I do not even have a USB Download cord, I am unable to plug one in to see if I can resolve the issue that way. I am desperate!

Even i had the same problem....

there are actually three solutions for this

I took the batteryout and back in (to make it turn off) then hit "clear" twice, held the "9"button down and hit the button to turn it on and it did work like a charm for me from then on....

but if that doesnt work.... u gotta put the fone in freezer for a while... (iam not joking)
it barely comes alive for a few minutes so that u can retrieve ur phone datas
and again goes back to this mode....

one more suggestion in that site was to get the phone to the service provider and have it flashed free of charge.... but then considering the shop is out till tomorrow... u better try the first option i provided....

Your phones software is crapped up. You got to reinstall/flash the software again to get it right. There are codes for resetting the phone, but that can be done only when the phone is on. Its may cost around $15 for flashing the software in your phone.
