You need to have an analog capture card on your PC, so that the analog video be converted to digital, if its already on your hard disk(video data, you can record it to disk or whatever you want(share, upload etc.). But its a tricky one, you should be familiar with video formats, AVI, MPEG etc, there are cards that can capture directly to MPEG, but in order to minimize data loose, capture it in AVI format, edit, render then burn to disk. IF your familiar with PC operations, just follow the instructions of the capture card that you will install. You can do some experiments as long as you already have the hardware.thanks

You mean your using it already in your PC, if my understanding is correct, your viewing the video played on camera, seen thru PC monitor. Its possible, but viewing and capturing are two different things, if you want it burned to CD, you must capture the video data to your hard disk, from there you can burn it, or share thru internet. CCD-TRV37 is and analog camera, you must process the analog video to digital video, thats why i mentioned about an analog capture card. As you said you are already playing it around with your PC, maybe your PC is hardware equipped, you may need video editing software to have it captured. thanks

I am doctor who specializes in ultrasound. My problem is that the current DVD recording system we are useing to record our ultrasound studies have imperfect resolution. Can you recommend one that will...

I am sorry to ask you another question, but in order to give you the appropriate answer, I have to know your exact needs.

You want to record the images and cine loops and currently use a video/frame grabber to capture these signals into a computer.
If you are a specialized Ultrasound doctor, why don't you use the DICOM standard for storage and archiving? There are great free software packages out there you can use for this! It will give you the best medical solution for this purpose and if you need after exam measurements etc, all the image display information (pixel info etc.) is already available in the DICOM information. Any DVD recording will give you a limitation in these functionalities.

If you want to proceed with DVD recordings, please be aware that the average Ultrasound pixel resolution is 512 x 512. Besides this, Ultrasound is always noisy and kind of "blocky"..The DVD will never increase this quality and can only downgrade it if incorrectly setup.

If you need more help or information about DICOM use, please let me know and no, I will be obliged to provide you with more information about this great standard.

I saw a device that hooks to the computer that allows you to input media from a player (VCR or DVD) to the computer but nothing that works the other way around. What is it you're trying to do?

Hooking up a DVD player to a LCD TV

Typically, there is no video out from TV. You would have to connect the satellite receiver output to the DVD recorder input and connect the DVD recorder output to the TV. Word of warning - digital signals (DTV coax or HDMI) from the satellite receiver carry copyright info embedded, which may limit what it will allow you to put on a DVD. Typically anything can be recorded on the hard drive of the recorder, but programs from subscription channels may not go to a DVD.

Can't view DVD's burned from the tv on a DRC8335 RCA DVD recorder

If you do not finalize the disc then you can not play it back. Go back to your instruction manual and look under 'setting options'. There should be a choice to 'finalize disc before ejecting'. The recorder will not finalize a disc until it knows when you are done recording, so you have to tell it somehow.

How do I transfer my camcorders recordings from HI8 tape to a computer or DVD?

Do you have another video camera that will hook up to your computer? In the past, I've connected my old Hi-8 to my Mini DV, recorded the footage from the Hi-8 to the Mini DV and then digitized on the computer from the Mini DV. You will however need some video software like iMovie for this solution.
You can also, hook the Hi-8 camera up to a VCR or TV using the appropriate cable and view it that way.
