You could try taking it apart, but it is not going to be easy. If you are comfortable doing this, there is a guide for the 300D here -
(scroll to bottom of page for download link) - the 350D won't be much different.
Personally I would recommend taking it to an authorised repairer for a quote, although you may find it is cheaper to get another one second-hand from your favourite online auction site...

Shutter Curtain Doesnt Reset Mirror

If your shutter curtain doesnt close, it may be out of Sync with the shutter button. My Minolta x700 had this problem. My camera guy fixed it for me with a couple of tinker moves. Contact your nearest camera repair shop (if available) and ask how much it would be to fix the Sync between depressing the shutter button and the curtain. it may just be some grime that has it stuck.

I was loading film into my Nikon EM for the first time and it wouldn't work so I had to take it out, then I pressed the shutter and it closed and it didn't open back up so I played around with the shutter...

You can't touch the shutter curtain at all on any film camera and the cost of repairing that curtains far exceeds the cost/value of the camera. Sorry for the bad news but the only thing worth anything on the camera now is the lens.

My Minolta Maxxum 400si film SLR seems to have a jammed shutter and the shutter curtains seem to be mis-aligned (this would be because of the previous owner, not me) but the bottom curtain actually seems...

With the shutter curtain out of place the camera will not function. If it is only out a little you may be able to persuade the shutter blades to fall back into position. If you bend them, or if they are out of the proper tracks then the camera will have to be sent to a repair service for repair.

Film Advance Lever and Shutter Curtain

If the film advance lever is "flopping" back and forth, the problem is most likely a jammed advance mechanism inside. The shutter is cocked *mechanically* and released the same way--no battery power is needed. One old trick you could try to release things is to push the rewind button on the bottom of the camera.*sometimes* it will free up the mechanism enough to unjam.

Nikon 6006 shutter curtain

Shutter Curtain needs to be replaced.
There are 2 of them. Usually one goes out of position and brakes.

Paper feeds skewed to one side. Ink smears, paper twisted and jams.

My ip4300 was pulling the paper in toward the right and then it would crnkle the paper and jam. I tried all the cleaning techniques I could find suggested on the web. I called my grandson, who used to work on printers, and he suggested using sandpaper to roughen up the feed rollers (two on the right side when facing the printer.. a large and a small). So, I first used some #100 sandpaper to roughen the rollers, but that did not fix the problem. I then used some #60 sandpaper, then used a damp cloth to clean the rollers after roughing them up and then dried them with a dry rag. My printer now works beautifully! If nothing else works, you may want to try this—it's what my grandson said they did at the shop he worked at.

Lets see if the shutter curtains are opening properly : set to B and open the film back of the camera. Now release shutter and see if the first s. curtain has opened nicely and swiftly. Then release the second s. curtain and again see if you get proper closing of the curtain. If the shutter curtains ( usually just one misbehaves ) is slow to close then the shutter unit needs looking at . ( btw no point pouring liquids like benzine etc. into the shutter curtain are ... will make things worse ).

Streaks of light in some of my pictures

There is probably a pinhole in the shutter curtain. Open the back and check for pinholes with a bright light. If there are a small number of holes they can be easily patched. If the curtain is full of holes the curtain will have to be replaced.
