LCD TV connection to DVD-VCR

Last night I purchased an LG 26LC7D television at JB HIFI Melbourne. I bought it home myself, unpacked it and connected it to my Samsung DVD-VCR using only the Coaxial Cable. My LG 26LC7D went through its initializing setup and automaticaly found all programmes available through my antenna connection. I am very happy with the way the LCD TV is working. However I am unable to get either picture or sound from either part of my Samsung DVD player or Video player the antenna connection is obviously working because I am picking up all the TV programmes but I don't know how to tune in the DVD-VCR. The manual for the DVD-VCR suggests connecting to the TV using "the RCA Cable" I have not done this before and seem to have lost the cable. I am considering going to Dick Smith Electronics to see if they can supply an "RCA Cable" but I am not sure whether such a connection will help me find the picture/sound connection with my LCD TV. Can you advise me as to how I should tune the DVD-VCR to the LCD TV? Should I be able to do this myself?

Re: LCD TV connection to DVD-VCR

OK here is a possible solution: 1) The best solution: Connect the antenna to your DVD-VCR through the RF Input and the the RF Out to your TV This take care of the VCR part. Then you get an RCA three way cable (Video-yellow marked, Right Audio-Red marked, Left Audio-white marked)connect the yellow marked RCA cord to the Video out of your DVD player then connect the other end to your video in of your TV. Ater that connect the red marked audio cable to the R Audio out of your DVD player to the R Audio in of your TV do the same for the white marked Audio cable. You will now be able to switch from VCR-RF to DVD-RCA.

Need to hook up LG tv to phillips cd/4 head hi fi and RCA surround sound

Ok: I will guide yourself through "hook up" process.
1. connect your TV set to your VCR, using 3 wires RCA cable(Yellow, red, white) to "Video1" input, yellow only! The other 2(sound channels) connect to "home theater/DVD unit. Use "aux" input.
2. Connect your DVD video output. yellow or 3 colored( green, blue, red) component cables to your TV's Video 2 or "component 1" input.
Now you'll be able to use your TV as a video monitor for your VCR and DVD.
The sound will be handled by DVD/Home theater. In case your TV is a very modern, all you can get out is: direct digital sound stream. Your home theater must be equipped with coaxial(orange) input(looks like RCA plug) or optical input. Or both. You must use proper cables to connect TV to Home theater.
sorry, but it requires some patience and thorough reading of user manuals.
Otherwise, it's "level 1" difficulty. nothing you may damage, due to installation.
Good luck,

I am not able to connect my logitech speaker system z523 to my 32lk450 tv. It worked fine on my last hd tv, I had it connected with rca white and red cables. Is it compatible with my new tv???

The only way you can connect external speakers to this model is to connect to the TV via the headphone jack this way no matter what you are watching DVD, TV, VCR the audio will pass through. Most TV's now do not have speaker outputs as it saves a little money on production. Good Luck : )

I have Sony Bravia X Series 46" Full HD. The Picture froze during a TV show last night. After that it says it cant pick up anything from any channell. It works if you just play DVD's. I've tried...

you will have to check the terms of the warranty, you might have to bring it to where you bought it. Also, if its to expensive, for the age of the unit, you might end up with a new tv.

How to connect a hifi to a 42 " lcd tv so i can use aux on hifi . which audio connection on the tv do i use?

It all depends on the connections available on TV and your hifi, easiest method is phono leads most are marked with a red and white dot. Match the dots to the female connections on the back of the hifi and TV (if you are unsure check the manuals) they should be labled.

Connecting a DVD/VCR combo to LCD TV

The best suggestion I would advise is to buy a shielded scart connector & connect that from your DVD combi to either AV1 OR AV2. It sounds as if you are picking up RF interference from your current connections, this can sometimes happen if the cables do not have adequate shielding.
