Charge the laptop and discharge it completely do it thrice.
apart from it apply heatsink paste in your processor.that is called thermal paste. (also called thermal compound, heat paste, heat transfer compound, thermal paste, or heat sink compound) is a fluid substance, originally with properties akin to grease, which increases the thermal conductivity of a thermal interface (by compensating for the irregular surfaces of the components). In electronics, it is often used to aid a component's thermal dissipation via a heat sink.(also called thermal compound, heat paste, heat transfer compound, thermal paste, or heat sink compound) is a fluid substance, originally with properties akin to grease, which increases the thermal conductivity of a thermal interface (by compensating for the irregular surfaces of the components). Brake pedal pulsing

Brake pedal pulsing is very common in commodores this is well know as brake shudder .
more noticeable at speeds above 60klm.
the hot the brakes get the more noticeable.
To fix this problem you will need to replace your disc rotors and clean the hub surface and face area .
when fitting the new rotors you will need to check the run out it has to be under 0.5mm for front and 0.08mm rear .
replace pads.

Dell inspiron one 2305 power supply short

This is due to a bad cable and/or LCD Inverter board. I would replace both. Had this problem before and it's definitely the pointing at the LCD Inverter and it's connectivity to the motherboard. Dont just by the board, get both board and cable, US$35 on Ebay.

Is the powerpack light on?
Does it stay on when your plug it into the moterboard?
Is the light on to indicate that the computer is plugged into the charger?
If all of the above is in order then take the battery out and see if the computer runs directly from the adaptor without battery.
If so then replace battery pack and see what happens.
If not, then there is still a problem or two with the mother board.

Which side is up and what are the two adhesive pad for?

The fans of the cooling pad are supposed to throw air upwards, ie, the table to the laptop on top of the pad. So that fresh air keeps going into the laptop and replaces the hot air inside soon and enough. As regards the two adhesive pads, they may be for the laptop to rest on without slipping.

Your battery is likely damaged from being plugged in for a year. The battery is a sealed lead acid battery inside, probably a 12 or 17AH job. Proper way to store a lead acid battery is to keep in cool dry location, and top off charge each month or two by charging according to manufacturer guidelines.

If you can figure out how to get into the case, you can replace the battery.

Dell d600 power issues

The problem is in either the power lead from your powerpack or in the connector on the motherboard itself.
In this case I would say it's in the powerpack.

Dell use a smart power supply system that talks to the laptop to say if it is a genuine part or not.

If you look at the plug you will notice something strange about it.
There are actually 3 layers in there (well sort of)
You have the outer layer, then inside you will see a pin. There is another layer that is wrapping around the inside of the plug that is a mirror of the outer layer.

The wire that connects to the centre pin is not power, but the smart pin. The wire can easily break off that pin and just sit inside the cable.

Try it with a known good adaptor, or just get another one.
