TV reception breaking up pretty bad because of rainy weather here in Brooklyn New York I live in an apartment and I'm using a Winegard amplified antenna does anyone have any suggestions what improving...

Television signals are at such high frequencoies they will be reflected form buildings and other objects, and attentuated by moisture in the air and through the leqaves of trees, etc. In large cities yourt TV singals can arrive from different paths Digital TV signals bounce as di the old "analog TV" signals but the technology allows the receiver to ignor singals that are out of phase so the picture is "clean" despite multipleversions of the signal arriving at the antenna at slightly different times. That said, if the signal is weak, there is little you can do other than experimanet with positioning the receivng antenna. Typically, building walls attentuate televisoin signals so locating the receving antenna close to a window often provides for stronger signal reception.

Amplified antennas cannot amplify what is not there. Moisture in the form of fog, rain and snow will attenuate television signals and if thre signals are marginal in good weather, they may be virtually not-existent in wet weather. Digital TV signals are threshold dependent. When they are toow eak, you won't see anything. Back in the old analog TV days, you could see a "snowy picture" but digital TV doesn't allow for that. The signal is either strong enough to be viewed or it is not.

You have few real options if you do not subscribe to cable or a satellite tv provider. Amplified antennas can help but if you need them you live in a marginal TV reception area to begin with and more prone to the vagaries of weather and the seasons.

You are in somewhat of a fringe area and subject to the vagaries of proper reception. Hopefully you have a good outdoor antenna mounted as high up as possible. You might also consider adding an antenna amp to the downlead to boost up the signal.

Digital signals are not as strong or robust as analog ones and good reception can be thwarted by tree leaves in the path of the signal to your set!!!!!!!!! You should have as clear a line of sight to the transmitter as possible. Relocation of antenna is also another possibility.

The battery couldn't even sustain 5 miles. Please help.

If your bike has not been used for a long time or you have continuously charged this battery since you bought it the battery is most likely no good anymore. it sounds like the battery is no good. Especially if when you bought it it could run for much more time if the battery is old replace it and only charge the new one when needed and for the specified amount of time. Like your car, batteries do not last forever and this type of battery is under much more load. Batteries plus will fix you up with the correct battery

Display on my Garmin E-Trex Legend GPS

Sounds like the screen is shot and theres nothing really you can do to fix it, sorry :(

You can send it to Garmin for the flat rate repair fee of $79 dollars. I would recommend getting the new eTrex Legend H with the high sensitivity receiver if you want a similar model. It's sat reception will blow the prior version out of the water and has 24mb of memory rather than the 8mb it used to have.

Bad reception w/ Panasonic RF-544

I solved the problem, but I did not "fix" the problem. Rather than rig an antenna to the old Panasonic RF-544 radio, I put it upstairs where it has good reception. I put the new Sony ICF-38 downstairs where it brings in the stations I listen to. The advertsizing claim for the Sony ICF-38 is that it has "Good Sound and High Sensitivity." I believe it does have "high sensitivity" because even in the basement it brings in my desired stations. (I am still curious to know if I could have rigged an antenna to the old Panasonic RF-544.)
