Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

The washer comes to life on the spin cycle lol

The washer knocks horribly on the spin cycle and jumps around and none of the springs seem to be broke and all the bolts seem to be in place.... any ideas?

Yes its level and everything. It looked like some bolts were missing underneath it like they had been knocked loose and fell out so we replaced them and it is rocking side to side still on the spin cycle.

No it's not warped its a pretty new washer and its in great almost new shape haha that's why its so boggling! And no it doesn't make any noise but you can grab the tub and swing it side to side more then you should be able to with out spinning it

My Whirlpool front loader washer is less than a year old and everything works just fine but I also wonder about the knocking. The washer goes crazy during the spin cycle. Its level and not warped either but I think they just don't make washers and dryers like they used to. I just wanna make sure its not ruining my washer like you.

I think I broke a gear in my washing machine... It makes a knocking noise

you have these springs ,that help keep the tub from bumping into the casing .go behind the washer look under the tub part see if you can find a spring mounted on an arm there then look on the other side .if one of them is missing look under the washer ,find and slide spring back into it's slot.it is what balances the load.
i had that happen to my washer and my friend showed me how to fix it just in case it happened again.
banged around only in spin.hope this will help you.

Small spring is hanging red clip on floor tub dose not look level water coming out around sides an top when it spins

this is one of several drum balancing spring clips and it broke or popped-off. This will for sure make the spin cycle shake the drum very much and spill water. Nedd to open the machine housing and replace/repair the spring.

The drum inside our front loader washing machine is loose and makes a horrible knocking noise while in the spin cycles. How can this be fixed?

it could be fixed,,, but it sounds like drum bearings worn out thats not going to be cheep,,,or it could be the steady spring/s if one has fell off or just snaped the other is trying to hold all the weight of the drum and it cant do all the work so the drum swings around on the spin cycle battering the inside of the washer,,,this will pull off the water pipes and wiring to other parts like the motor,,,you could wip the top or back off and look inside you will see if the spring has come off,,it will be laying in the bottom

Washer bangs loudly in middle of spin cycle

Hello,

Make sure the back spring is still on the back of the tub. That tends to come off sometimes. Check all the other springs while you're down there too. You can balance the unit if you tilt the back side of the washer and then set it back down. it has auto leveling feet. What's happening is once the water is all drained out, the unit will enter the final spin cycle and spin very fast putting the unit off balance so the tub bounces around.

Good luck, let me know if this helped.

Mine did this, it never got fixed, repairman told me to replace it. I suggest you do the same. He told me the springs and bumpers had just worn out, and from the looks of my old washer, he was right lol

Thumping/knocking/rattles during wash agitation cycle

Mine is doing the same thing. I opened it up to see what was happening and it was the drive belt tension arm bumping around. Soon, the belt started slipping during the spin cycle. Now it won't spin and the belt starts to smolder from the friction of the drive motor. If you haven't checked your belt, that's a good place to start.
