Epson C1100 not recognized by printserver Belkin

I connect my Epson C1100 to a Belkin printserver so that I can print anywere from the network, but the printer is not recognized. I had the same problem with a Sitecom printserver and changed it to a Belkin one, so it should have some to do with the printer.
An other printer Canon S630 works without any problem. Any idea ???

    Hello Kakee,

Thanks for your quick reply, I did this already, but it does not work.

Printing directly through USB is no problem, but it's not recognized in the Belkin printserver.

    Regards,

    Leen

    Is not working

  • lveenman Apr 13, 2009

Sorry, I tried this already, but it does not work.
If I connect the printer through USB direct on the computer than it's no problem.
But if I connect the printer on the printserver than the printer is not recognized.

    Thanks, but it's not working.

I think that the poblem is that the Printserver does not recognize the printer, I only see another printer which is also connected to the Printserver and this one is working correctly.

The helpdesk of Epson told me that's a problem of Belkin and Belkin says it's a problem of Epson !!!!!

  • lveenman Apr 19, 2009

It's not the solution I prefer, but I think it's the only possibility, I will try to buy a Netgear Printserver.
    Thanks

You only need to perform a Windows standard “Add New Printer”
procedure.
1. Click “Start”, choose “Settings”, and
select “Printers and Faxes”.

2. Click “Add a Printer”.

3. The Add Printer Wizard appears. Click “Next”.

4. Select “A network printer, or a printer attached

5. Select “Connect to a printer on the Internet or on a home or
office network” and enter the Print Server’s URL. The URL
format is “http://IP:631/PortName”. The IP address should
be the Print Server’s IP address. The number “631” is a
standard IPP port number. The port name refers to the one
to which your printer is connected. The default port name is
“lpt1”. One exam ple of the URL is “http://192.168.2.2:631/
lpt1”. After entering the Print Server’s URL, click “Next”.

6. Select a suitable printer manufacturer and the printer
model, and click “Next”. If your printer is not on the list,
click “Have Disk...” to install the printer’s driver. After
installation, the printer model will be added to the list.

7. Choose to set the printer as either a default

8. You have added the network printer to the computer
successfully. The printer’s information appears
in the following window. Click “Finish”.

It seems that the printserver does not support your Epson printer (though it is working well locally...) the issue is compatibility with the printer server.

I checked other brands of print servers and it seems that Netgear print server supports your EPSON C1100. You can consider replacing your belkin print server.

Its not in all epson printer but in some epson printer its the problem when connected to printserver through router.they are not compitable to the printserver as this function is blocked in some epson printer.they only work if connected directly through usb to printer and pc.and in that way its working in your printer also.so its a cause of epson not supporting the printserver.
keep updated.
thanks.

You must configure your printer setting, you should install a network printer on the printer properties.

  1. go to printer/faxes window.
  2. click install printer.
  3. select network printer.

hope this initial info helps.

You need to install the printserver driver for this printer to work. Here's the trick. First, connect the printer to your computer using USB and install it like a regular printer. Make sure you can print at the end of the installation. After that, you can now connect the printer back to the printserver and Run the CD for the printserver. Make sure all your firewalls are disabled on the computer for the printserver to setup properly.

Epson c1100 showing 'offline'

Go to system settings and select the 'Printer' option.

Right-click on the printer and enable the 'Use Printer Online' function.

Cancel all the printing jobs till that moment and redo the process.

Sometimes the 'Printer Offline' message occurs due to a 'Job Stuck' issue.

Check all network connections and functions.

Be sure the network interfaces work properly.

Turn the printer off and on to see whether the device is working properly.

Epson AcuLaser C1100 wont print via pc. It prints a test page only directly from the printer. I have tried several usb connectors that work just fine on other printers. So, my question is, is there any way...

The only way I would know how to see if the port is recognized is if when it is plugged in it is recognized as a device in windows.

You could try another computer, but something tells me that this printer's usb port is dead.

Have you installed the drivers for it?

Epson Aculaser C1100 error code C0084. How is this code cleared.

Hi
The issue cause due to temporary "data error" that is easy to resolve. :-

  • A corrupted or interrupted print job, or:
  • A data or interface cable that is not connected correctly.

So, follow these steps:-

  1. Disconnect the printer from the data source
  2. Does the printer pass its ROM, RAM and Self Test checks?
  3. Test the printer standalone by printing a Status Sheet
  4. Cancel all pending print jobs on the network or computer
  5. Reseat and reconnect the data cable at both ends
  6. Test the printer

Lexmark 640 printers will not print after network security audit.

So you think the scan from the Auditors software jammed the port on the Printserver? Are your printservers PC's that spool the print jobs and then send them to the printer or are the printserver devices? How is you printserver connected to your printer? (ie parallel, USB, COM)

Does your network have a dedicated computer server and the printer is attached to this server or is the printer attached to a dedicated print server device?
OR
Does a computer on your network shares its printer with other computers on your network?
There is insufficient information on how you configured your printer setup for me to give you a proper answer to your problem.

Installation wizard does not locate the WPSM54G

hello!

what is the model number of your printer? if your setup cd is not detecting your printserver, try the ff:

-- while pc and printserver connected to the router and your printserver connected to your printer. try to reset the printserver for 30sec. Is it printing? If yes, do you see any IP address on the print out

-- If no, unplug the power for 5 seconds and plug the power back in of the printserver then try again to run the setup cd. you may also check your routers dhcp server table if its detecting the printserver

-- if printserver still not detected ty to connect printserver directly to your computer

-- search if you have bi admin utility on your setup cd and install it on your pc

-- manually assign static ip address on the printserver using the bi admin utility and on the pc

-- if successful, connect printserver and pc back to the router and check if you can ping the ip address of your printserver
